Underlined GREEN words in posts

Can someone please remind me how to get rid of those annoying things? It has been a couple of years since I have seen them on any of the computers but today they are popping up after an scheduled update that happened this morning. I had been on the computer before the update, left when it started and now they are showing in almost every post, sometimes even two or three words....tia

Typing a post using Word

I wish this forum had the ability to use those simple enhancements. Sometimes I want to italicize or underline. I've tried to learn it but my brain doesn't retain that stuff unless I did it all the time. Just too many steps and the whole thing takes too long. I think typing on Word would be faster. At my age I am short of memory & patience! I use FF and don't worry about spelling as it always underlines. Even with that, I still spell wrong because I hit the submit button without proof reading. I'm always rushing. But back to the original question: Would Word work for using those symbols? I would us it rarely, but would like to occasionally. Jane

This was posted on the decorating & cooking forums: Tamara is out tending to some family business today, so I apologize for not getting over here sooner. I wanted to let you know that these links were rolled out on the forums unintentionally and have since been removed. We apologize for the confusion this caused. Thanks for your comments and for your patience. Caryn Caryn D. Stein Director of Community, iVillage.com

I don't have those either, and I use Chrome.

You know, if make a post, below the Preview Message, there's a "Click HERE to learn more about in-text links on this page" from GardenWeb. This will tell you how to get rid of them, I'm sure.

Thanks, I knew I could count on someone here. I am an old diehard IE user that keeps up to date with it running windows 7 at the moment. I also have firefox but prefer IE. Knock on wood I do not have the problems some here seem to have with ads, popups, and other annoying things. PS bookmarked that site to get rid of the pest!!
