Thanks for follow up to the original post. We are 2/3 done with ours and wanted to party a new review for folks We purchased Newport Blue cabinets. My experience is mixed. The instructions are horrible. The figures on the instructions are so small it hard to see what they are telling you to do. Watching then CTG installation video mislead me to put screws thru the drawers but the only holds were in back and after doing this and damaging the inside rear corners of the drawers realized that these holes are actually for the raining system to latch into. Also, the wall cabinet.installation instructions were.even.woese. Telling me to put 4 135 degree corner brackets on top and bottom to secure the sides and either got only two brackets or none at all. Two cans broke on installation with no spair parts provided to fix them. Sometimes the dato joints didn't go together well so we.used a soft mallet to tap it in to place. The finish is smooth but there are some rub marks or scratches on the side. Luckily it's in an area that won't be visible. I'll post more thoughts when we are done.

It depends on whether you are using the same light maple color (butcher block?) anywhere else in your kitchen as an accent color, making the color difference look intentional. If that's the only place it shows up, it might look better being the same color as the outsides (unless there is so much gray that you want to break it up.) If you look through the finished kitchen blog, you can see what most have done with glass cabinets. I think carrying the outside color into a glass cabinet is pretty standard. I'm using a new computer and don't have the link to the FKB stored, otherwise I'd give it to you. I also think it depends on how many seedy glass cabinets you have--if all/most of your uppers are the seedy glass, then the color difference might look nice, like the kitchens with different color uppers and lowers.

When we were planning our (now completed) kitchen gut & reno, my DH insisted he wanted a light in our under sink cab. We were already getting a light in our glass-fronted cab, but our KD, GC and electrician were floored by his request. None had ever put a light in any but glass-front cabs before! In the end, it was easy and everyone was really impressed with DH's new idea. Now that it's in, I'm realy glad we stuck to our guns and insisted they do it. We have a corner sink, so it's a big cab and the R/O filtration system is under there, too. I think a light in your super susan cab would be great. Wish I'd thought of that for mine! I say go for it! BTW, here's a pic of our undersink cab with the light. It's on the right side of the cab there.

The house we are buying was built in the 60s, but is made to look like a FrenchChateau . Still, it has never been updated though maintained impeccably. Lots of wallpaper and unusual architecture- weepy mortar, giant metal sliding glass doors & I think we are able to score it because it has the world’s smallest kitchen. Did I mention wallpaper? All 6 baths need updated and de- papered.
