We never get MAD, but we DO get even.....

BEWARE OF THAT UNDERWEAR DUST!!!!!!!!!

One evening a husband, thinking he was being funny, said to his wife, 'Perhaps we should start washing your clothes in 'Slim Fast'.

Maybe it would take a few inches off of your butt!'

His wife was not amused, and decided that she simply couldn't let such a comment go unrewarded.

The next morning the husband took a pair of underwear out of his drawer. 'What the heck is this?' he said to himself as a little 'dust' cloud appeared when he shook them out..

'April', he hollered into the bathroom, 'Why did you put

talcum powder in my underwear?'

She replied with a snicker. 'It's not talcum powder; it's 'Miracle Grow'!!!!! !

You guys just never learn, do not tick off the little woman.

Except that presupposes that "little" is an appropriate adjective for the "woman"??? :D

Frank, she's already a beauty, and she's not fully open! Just wait until all the buds open! As I said, it was one of my favorites! Very prolific bloomer... although, all my attempts at pollinating failed. I'll catch it next bloom cycle. Sweet Lilian also proved to be very photogenic! I took the most photos of this particular variety. Viagrow... hahaha! So, what happens if the stem is erect for more than 4 hours? Should you consult a horticulturist? LOL! Larissa, in today's world, you sort of have to help your kids develop a thick skin so they're ready for whatever life throws at them. We're the type of parents that never shielded our kids from the uglier side of life... we were always very open, encouraging them to question the world around them, and to discuss things they weren't sure about. Life is tough... kids need to develop good coping skills! One of our favorite lines was, and still is: Life is full of choices... for every choice there is a consequence... think hard before making your choices! When our kids were teens, our house was the favorite hangout... there were always other kids at our house. They would all come over after school and hang out, play video games, listen to music... my fridge got a ton of mileage! I think we fed the neighborhood! You should hear some of the stories from parties at our house! Our motto was: Don't fall asleep before we do! Oh, the jokes we played on people! Ahh... great memories! Hilarious memories! We never had a lot of money, but we did have a lot of fun! Our kids have some awesome memories to take with them through life... that much is certain!

They bloom on last year's growth, so one has to kind of watch lopping off too much if you want it to flower. I used to think it bloomed "on old wood", until I actually looked the info up yesterday. I usually end up pruning mine back every other year (not down to the ground tho, it's way too high even if I wanted to do that,which I don't) and have discovered that it doesn't like to have the ends of it's branches simply trimmed off - much of the branch will die back if you do that.

Joni I agree completly with you about the use of pesticides. I had stopped using pesticides for years but have began using some systemics again but only on indoor plants that are infested. Still these pesticides end up in our water so it's hard to justify their use of you can find something less harmful. Years ago I had posted info about just how deadly the specific pesticides we use on our Hoyas are to pollinating insects. Much of the research came out of France where the Bayer products or more specifically the active ingredient imidacloprid was banned. I think the numbers were something like 200 bees would be killed from each flower on an apple tree if it were treated with an imidacloprid containing pesticide, this molicule is extreamly toxic to bees. Gardenweb.com was excellent. Houzz bought it and changed it to this Post+Comment sillyness, buried it in their marketing site, and made it easier for people to accidentally resurrect dead posts. I'm not suggesting people didn't manage to resurrect dead posts in the old site. It was just much rarer and usually done by a bot that generally got fixed. It sometimes seems that anything that works well just must get damaged by some change. It seems any change to just about anything is almost always a change for the worse.

That reminds me of a nasty trick that my brother pulled..

He and his wife had been fussing for months and were on the verge of a divorce. She was a nurse and he was a truck driver so one day while she had to go to work, he was sitting home waiting for his dispatcher to call about a load.

Being a bit hateful, when she left for work he set up wifes sewing machine and ran a seam across the top of all her underwear, then carefully folded them and put them back in the drawer.

The next morning DW got out of the shower and started dressing for work, tried to put on some underwear and discovered they were all stitched shut.....

What the he## is this, she demanded?

Brother says.."I'f i can't get in them, nobody does!"

She thought a moment then burst out in laughter,,,She laughed so hard she called work and told them she couldn't come in for the day, she stayed home with hubby and they settled their differences and have been happily married for 20 yrs, and to this day they still laugh about that incident.

I told that joke to Harry and he got a good laugh out of it. But about 5 minutes later I heard him laugh and mumble "Miracle Gro". LOL! He doesn't really laugh at jokes a lot.
