I love to travel. My husband and I have been taking trips in our RV for the past 3 years. A year ago we bought a 40 foot coach and have put 24,000 miles on it so far. We take our cats with us and they just love it. I think it's great that we get to sleep in our own beds, I cook our meals like usual and we do our own thing. We camp near our family when we visit them otherwise we are out seeing our beautiful country. We are getting ready to leave out on June 1 for a six week trip up through the PAC NW and then go into Montana and up to Banff Canada. This trip will be almost 7,000 miles. I have had the opportunity to meet friends from the KT and MH forums while on our trips. It is a great way to travel even with the high cost of fuel. I always say you can't take it with you and we are not getting any younger. We are going to enjoy ourselves for as long as we can.

No Sabbath, never. I lived in San Pedro when I was a child. Went back to Disneyland several times as a teen and adult. I've also been to several of the National Parks, Huntington Beach and Marineland, among other places. Went to Oakland for the Air Force to go through the MEPES station since I lived in Nevada when I enlisted but I think that's it, other than traveling through areas to get to those places mentioned above. Not much time spent on the coast other than Long Beach and San Diego when I was a child. Someday I want to drive the Pacific Coast highway, but I've read part of it is destroyed from a mudslide. My son is going to Monterey for tech school. He'll be there about 14 months. I may just go when he graduates.

Oh, wow, I just went to Wuhan and Beijing last December! I was with a group from my professional organization who gave a talk at one of the universities in Wuhan, so they had arranged guides to be with us every step of the way: pick up, meals, tours, and drop off at the airport. Incredible hospitality and a lot of responsibility. One of the guides was a freshman! Other than a few other Americans or Europeans at the airport, we were the only Americans 99% of the time. So, no, unless you are fluent, and one lady in our group spoke some Mandarin, you will need a guide. After our conference we split up, and most people came back to the U.S. except for the one lady who spent a few days in Shanghai with friends, and then I went to Beijing by myself. Once again, I had a guide for my time there. I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Beijing, and I was able to arrange a private car service through the hotel (Audi with driver) with a concierge to meet me at my gate, wait with me for my luggage, take me to the car and then right to the hotel. I did not want to navigate an international airport where I'd never been and where I didn't speak the language by myself. I think this cost about $100 US but was well worth my peace of mind. I had it a little easier since I was flying within China and didn't have to clear immigration, etc. Then I was checked in at my room when I arrived and didn't even have to stop at the front desk. I chose the Hyatt because of the location to Tiananmen Square and Wangfujing street vendors, and that they would likely have business travelers and a high percent of English-speaking staff, which they did. Then I had a two-day tour through Catherine Lu Tours (Cindy was my guide), and I had a personal guide for those two days. At the end of the tour as part of my package they took me to the airport. I checked out of the hotel and had my bags int the car. So, I had Cindy as a personal guide for the Great Wall and Summer Palace the first day, and then the next day for Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven. She bought all the tickets, etc., so I did not have to deal with any of that. The Hyatt is connected to this underground mall, and I bought some souvenirs and was able to get what I needed. Most of the vendors did not speak English. Wangfujing street is really cool for street food and vendors and since it was just a couple blocks from the hotel I felt OK navigating by myself that first day I arrived. A lot of the street vendors speak some English. They have Didi, which is the Chinese version of Uber that actually took over the Uber China, so it was very easy for all the guides to get us where they needed. Hope this helps!

frankginakay, Where we are staying, they offer the test there. We aren’t vaccinated but we’ve had Covid, so we aren't really worried about the test, but I've had quite a few friends go, some have had Covid, and some not, and have all made it through fine. I think Cabo is getting more crowded now, but more people should be vaccinated by then also. I can’t imagine if you are vaccinated, you’d have anything to worry about. I have decided not to get my 17 year old son vaccinated for awhile, especially since he has had Covid. Letting it play out. I'm sure the vaccine is fine, but for him being young-just feels more comfortable that way for us. I am the mom who got his childhood vaccines when he was a baby ONE AT A TIME. I know his pediatrician was probably aggravated at me, but I wasn't taking any chances. I just think giving that many vaccines at one time is not a "one fit for all" for every baby/toddler. That's just me, and I feel good about what I did. When it comes to things like this, I research the heck out of everything!
