Okay potato mavens...question for you

I just picked about 20 lbs. more of spuds. They were ready, not attached to the tuber and just laying sweetly in the soil. I know I'm supposed to let them air out to dry and I won't let them get wet. But after that, what's the best way to prepare them for storage/keeping, and how long can I expect them to keep? I have a dark, cool pantry in the kitchen. It may not fit them all, but I can find another agreeable spot.

Any advice is gratefully welcome.

Nora
