Once is enough!! LOL! They look lovely! and I am sure delicious....as I said with croissants and puff pastry by hand...once is enough for each.

Linda, they look GREAT and all that hard work is well worth it. With your dedication you WILL be an expert, getting up at 1:30 a. m. to bake them! I am betting your co-workers can't wait for this to become a monthly treat. I find the more you do something, the easier it becomes and doesn't seem to take forever for the end product.

Linda....when you make something as delectable as that, it deserves a big picture....not a thumbnail!!! lol

Tres Magnifique! What a beautiful presentation. I clicked on the thumbnail and was rewarded with a lifesize (well almost) picture!

Of course, now it will be Linda's fault that I'll stop at the coffee shop for a chocolate croissant on the way to work--and it won't be as good as hers, I'm sure. She needs to come work where I work!

I am just amazed that they turned out, because I made the Country French Bread from the paney camp recipes and...well, let's just say I am saving those loaves for hockey season.(If ya know what I mean) LOL
Don't know where I went wrong on those, but I will try again!

A pound of butter in a recipe makes all the difference in the world, too! The croissants we can buy in the grocery stores and bakeries around here are so dry. However, I think I may try the recipe with three sticks instead of four... (You may not recognize me at PFPP if I keep eating like this! LOL May need to widen the doorways....)

I wanna make croissants too...I have a recipe around here somewhere that someone gave me on the RE a few years back for bread machine croissants...That's probably the most I'll tackle..however AnnT did call me and give me personal phone instructions to make my own, AND..I went out and bought a 4' dowel (the thickest I could find) to cut in half to have a 24" rolling pin....
That was MONTHS ago.......

WOW indeed, and what Chase said too! Those are spectacular. Call me when you make them again - I'll be there.

Wow! That is one thing that I really want to tackle some day.
However, Linda and Nancy, we now have two PFPP people who can make croissants. I sure like Cathy's idea of a croissant breakfast at PFPP. Gosh Nancy and Linda, you could make them and take them (and I could snack on them in the car on the way to Tennessee). Believe me, they are one of my favorite foods. And I have tasted Nancy's.
Congratulations Linda. You have got to be very proud.

Barb, I began making them at 10am. I had to wait for the last rise so I baked them at 1:30am!

The croissants and presentation are both lovely. I commend you for making such a beautiful thing at that ungodly hour. The only time I got up to bake in the middle of the night I was so groggy I forgot half the ingredients, missmeasured the other half and burned myself and the final product. I doubt I could make croissants that nice even fully awake! Was it a forum recipe?

They really do, though, and I haven't had breakfast yet, although it's lunch time.

I don't suppose I have time to walk home on lunch and whip up a batch of croissants, do I? Yeah, I didn't think so. Maybe I'll have to make some and freeze them for breakfast during the "Michigan Run". I think Ann T made some and filled them with chocolate and froze them, didn't she?

Of course, I haven't made croissants before, so you'd all have to eat my experiments and I'll bet they won't be anywhere near as pretty as these!

OK, I add my comments. They're just bee-u-tea-ful and I wish I had one right now. I tried making some about 6 months ago and they didn't look or taste like croissants. Maybe I'll give your recipe a go next.

Those are beautiful and I would like one NOW!!!! I'm certain your co-workers love you!! Baking at 1:30 AM would not be a problem for me, as I am up between 1 and 4 AM on most days. Great job!!!

I look forward to lessons while wearing my PJ's.....even if we have to get or stay up until the wee hours of the morning to finish them.......I'm thinking there might be an empty bottle of wine or two..LOL!!!

Linda, those are just beautiful. I am very impressed. It's one thing I've never tried to make but always wanted to. They certainly look worth the effort.
