What are you doing or getting for your DH for Valentine's Day?

DH loves chocolate. I got him a box of chocolates shaped like a football & a box of chocolates filled with Bailey's Irish Creme. Sounds good to me....and he loves both Bailey's, chocolate, and football. LOL

I will be watching this thread...I need some ideas. I will probably go to our candy shop in Ames and get him some chocolate covered nuts of some sort....I would like to come up with something special tho.

Valentines Gift Anthurium

How pretty! It is an Anthurium and the species andraeanum, also sometimes spelled andreanum, commonly called Flamingo Flower or Tail Flower. Yours is one of thousands of cultivars of this pretty blooming species. It has become one of my favorite plants. They like to be kept warm, moist (but not soggy, wet!) and in bright, indirect sunlight. In those conditions, they will grow pretty fast and bloom almost year-round. Hot, humid conditions are best. I keep all of mine outside under oak trees and crape myrtle trees in shifting/dappled sunlight and they love it. I bring them inside during threat of frost or freeze... and they aren't crazy about nights where the temp drops below 50 either. Some cultivars will throw yellow leaves or drop them. Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I will let DH read them all. The kitchen turned out much better than we could have ever imagined, especially since I designed most of it myself and am far from being a kitchen designer. DH was involved every step of the way and often the voice of reason. The whole experience was so positive that I'm ready to design another kitchen! And as it turns out, we just happen to own a rental condo that is in serious need of a new kitchen. But first we rest. :-) Flamey, the entire process (cabinets, sink, granite counter, faucet, installed appliances, remodel construction of ceiling, recessed lighting and wood floors) took three weeks. A puzzle from Pirates of the Carribean that makes a small sphere shape. He loves puzzles and always complains there isn't enough space to leave one out while he works on it. This has a small foot print but will be challenging for him to do.

Picked up some red and white striped, heart-shaped ravioli and their wonderful meatballs (not heart-shaped) from the little pasta factory in town. Will make a nice dinner--served with salad, and chocolate cupcakes. Then next weekend, I'll take him to a restaurant he's been wanting to try. He'll probably either bring me a plant, or will offer to take me out to dinner someplace I like. Got him a wonderful card, of course.

He always gets me a card, flowers, and chocolates. I told him to skip the chocolates, as much as I love them I don't need them. I get him a card and imported expensive beer that he likes. He gets 6 of them, they are sold individually, at V. Day and our Anniversary (Sept.).
