I have latest Firefox and AdblockPlus as well, and the annoying ads never show up. When I used DH's computer, and he has IE9, I think it was, the ads were back and truly irritating to see them. BKay, Firefox will transfer your bookmarks and address book, and I think keep your old home page as well. If you use Norton Security Vault or toolbar, it probably won't work with the LATEST Firefox....but Firefox itself can keep track of your passwords on request. I allow popups from a small number of sites, which are not the invasive kind but show the products I'm interested in. Also, they remove the images from email until I say "include'.

I should point out that I'm not winter sowing for that back woodland area this year. I'm actually wintersowing edibles and flowers for my front garden - mostly edibles for the terraces and a herbaceous border for the side slopes. Growing plants from seed for my 1/4 acre front garden seemed ambitious enough for the first year... I have coughed up cash for foundation shrubs and trees, particularly ones necessary for privacy and to stabilize steep slopes and pull water out of wet areas. I picked up 10 Western Red Cedars and 10 Oregon Grape for now from the local native plant sale. That's about all the cedars we can fit in until we clear more uphill (and all the Tubex tree tubes I can afford). We'll put more in next year and keep working our way uphill. The Oregon Grape we're putting along the property line up the hill. Hopefully it will eventually block out the view of the neighbors driveway and parking pad so they're not looking in the back of the house. I'm still tempted to head out to the King County sale to pick up sword fern, which works really well here. The local sale only has shrubs and trees. As for island living, I'm personally in love with "the moat" as the locals call it. Keeps out the riffraff. ;) Living here would be much less convenient if we commuted, but we both work from home, so it suits us perfectly. We end up over on the mainland every week or two for some appointment or another, which keeps us from getting cabin fever.

I am so glad your pants are a blaze! These pictures are of particular interest to me. All of yours are, as we live so close, but these are really special. Annie Laurie McDowell is my very most wanted rose. Had I known she would become so hard to come by, I would have purchased her when I had the opportunity. Someday...... I'm glad yours is finally showing some growth. It is such a beauty. I enjoy keeping track of your Aloha. As I have mentioned, I am growing her sport, "Lady Ashe". Mine was very unhappy for a while. (Planted late this May, band size, full sun) She is finally looking better, after some extra care and a hideous sun shelter. Of course you know why I love seeing or hearing anything about your Wild Edrics. The color is wonderful! I'm very excited by your gracious offer, and can hardly wait until fall. I've begun giving my irises a bit of water when I can, in hopes of rebloom like yours. I can only hope that I purchased rebloomers. Knowing myself, I'm sure most of them are. Your Carding Mill looks much better than mine. Mine IS grafted, but the park crew sprayed it with roundup nearly two years ago, and it has never fully recovered. THIS may be a spot for La France. Yes, I have been lured in:) I like everything about La France, and somehow always thought LF would be larger. I could handle this size. Our rose tastes are so similar, that if it's in your top 5, I could pretty much buy it sight unseen and know I'd love it. Great pictures, You really still have lots going on. Oh yes, The Faun. I like mine as a small ground cover rose. It seems to do very well in the heat with only once or twice a week deep watering. As you can see, I'm a big copycat! I've learned so much from you. Lisa
