Pimples and NO hair

I have noticed the last wee while, pimples, bumps and redness on my face. But the funny thing is that my eyebrows have not needed plucking in ages and the few hairs I had on my legs (not a hairy person) do not grow either. I have not had to attend to my bikini line either for a long time. Same with my pits...no or very slow growth.

Any one know what this means? Its actually pretty good. My head hair still grows like hell.

Well, I would sure like to know your secret! I noticed yesterday that I'd better keep an eyeball on my brows, or my up-till-now thin eyebrows will form a unibrow!

It is a form of alopecia which is often associated to gluten intolerance.

I would need to see a picture. Do your Crassula look as if they are salted, it's could be only the papillae (a small nipple of pimple like projection, rough hair like protrusions, skin). Then it would be just too much water this time of year, and the extra is coming out of the hydathode (little pore like openings, which will ooze if watered too much, stop watering for a month please, and only water when the plant is very dry. Stick a pencil down into the soil to test. Some Crassula grow with this salt like look on the tips or edges of their leaves. Many of the hybrids are bred for this feature. In fact do not water until Spring. Let the plant rest, depending on age, it just may flower for Christmas. Denise get ready tis the season. I had 4 laser applications, the last one about 5 weeks ago. My bikini line is completely done. Haven't seen anything at all. I could probably use 1 more treatment on my chin and neck, but my lip was done after 2. I was warned that I may need to go back once a year for any new growth, but otherwise I've been very pleased with the results. My bikini line was particularly heavy and waxing and shaving were a nightmare of ingrown hairs. There are MANY kinds of lasers and some work better than others. I just spent some time looking for the brochure that listed the type of laser, but I haven't been able to find it. I'll look again later and see if I can find it and post it for you. Before I went I asked for referrals from former patients. It's done at my OB/GYN's office by the Physicians Assistant, so I was fairly confident it would be a success. AM

I have no idea what the "film" is--did you wipe the area with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide? As for the pimples, my dermatologist told me that's the skin's reaction to the "trauma" of waxing, and can be prevented by using a little over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream right after the waxing is done (and NOT letting the salon put on a lotion that contains fragrance, which is irritating to some of us).

coolmama- I have not noticed any side effects. I was cautious as I have been known to react to certain things. The dermo said to use 2X a day but I started out by using 1X a day for a few days and everything was fine so I have been doing it 2X for almost 2 months now. I didn't notice any drying, burning,etc. I'm not sure yet but I may use a depilitory on the rest of my face (as I have never done that before). I very carefully put a small amount in the eyebrow area and have noticed a big difference there also. I believe for the VANIQA to work, the hair has to be eliminated first because I have been putting it on my jawline and I don't see any difference. My jaw line is blond peach fuzz. What does everyone else do with theirs (if it is just peach fuzz)? Like I said, insurance doesn't cover it and it is $85 for @ a 1oz. tube. I think it will last me @ 6 months if I continue to put it on my jawline too. The instructions say to really rub it in. Otherwise, if you just put it on the upper lip..it will last forever. If you quit using it, it is my understanding,that the hair will return to the pre VANIQA.

Wow, I found a place I can finally relate to and talk to someone out their about these annoying symptoms I have been having and feel now that I am not the only one when I hear all of you women out their in the same situations I am not alone Thank you. No pimples, but since it is winter I shave usually under my arms once a week and legs the same have never been a hairy person in the first place. I go to shower and shave and have noticed no hair and since in menopause assumed I had already shaved and felt like an idiot not remembering. The next week once again, no hair under my arm and legs. This went on for months before I went to the doctor and told her that the hair under my arms and my legs are next to none or are very fine and just a few here and there on my legs now. She made out for me a requisition for blood tests to test my hormone levels I have been in menopause now for 3 years and am 52 yrs of age. So get your hormones checked. I think it means now my estrogen levels have dropped tremendously now because I am also experience urinary tract infections lately and just came back from the hospital and the doctor told me it is all related to menopause. I felt some relief just knowing why all of a sudden I started getting these infections now two weeks in a row.
