I am almost 49 and have just begun to sometimes have two periods a month, ( as if 1 wasn't bad enough )

Is this a normal menopausal thing?

I don't have period anymore due to a partial hyst at a young age, but my understanding is that yes, this is normal for some women. Reportedly, periods can come close together or be spaced months apart as hormone fluctuations occur. Maybe someone who has actual experience like this will chime in. When was your last yearly gyn exam?

I just came from the gynecologist with the same problem. I'm scheduled for an ultra sound, to look for polyps or fibroids, she all tested for endometriosis. She's also doing a hormone test to see if I am menopausal...something none of the male gynes would do. (They said if you have symptoms you are) No this isn't normal for long periods of time. In my case it's been over 3 months. I'm also anemic...well duh if you bled so much for so long you would be too. So I'm in for a bunch of tests. Occassionally in the past I'd have 2 periods a month but it would always go back to monthly. By all means if this has been going on for more than a month see your gyne.

BTW I'm also 49 and still having my periods, gyne said the average age now is 52, though many women have perimenopause symptoms way before then.

Hang in there, I look at this way as long as all of my problems can be medically explained as menopausal and not just in my head I'm happy and can live with that.

Kendrah , I appreciate your input. The area underneath, between the front of the sink & vanity frame, is .75" (took another picture with a flashlight for a better view) The area underneath behind the sink (where the faucet hole is), measures ~2.75". Also included diagram of the faucet. The piece that goes underneath is smaller than the part that's above (appears to fit within the circumference of the base above). Again, in the grand scheme of this renovation, we were not married to this faucet, and would still be open to another faucet, as long as it provided equal reach/comfort/quality, and blended in with our other fixtures reasonably well. Our issue is more that we don't want to settle for a vanity top that is out of proportion visually or functionally (difficult cleaning, having to lean further forward, etc.). I'm providing the faucet pictures/info in case it turns out we picked some weirdly proportioned faucet, and that the unusual sink/faucet hole placements are a result of accomodating our faucet model (while still neglecting our window stool!) Because in that case, it would seem to be sort of 'our error', and not something we can necessarily expect the fabricator to to remedy (at their cost)? If this were the case though, I would think they would have communicated something to us like, 'hey, so you should know -- if you choose to use this faucet you will have very little space around it' or similar, before cutting the stone..

Loose intact nails on roof — is this normal?

Where there's one, there will be others (loose nails, not UFOs) so it would be prudent to have someone inspect roof to determine if there are other nails "partly" worked out. That will tell you if those are mavericks let laying on roof or if they worked themselves out. If indeed worked themselves out, a new roof should be installed by original contractor which will likely require threat of lawsuit.

Your only recourse is to get a quote from an authorized debris hauler for their cost for 5 loads and then compare that to your total cost (what you paid plus the $3,600). Then see where you are. If you were indeed overcharged then show that to your CM. If you weren’t, then at a minimum, let the CM know that understanding this up front would have been good towards building trust through communication.

Your contractor is wrong. None of that is normal. The vertical seal gap is actually pretty telling diagnostically. That rubber sweep along the jamb is supposed to compress when the door closes — if you can pull the door snug and see it seal right, the glass itself is the correct size. What that tells you is the panel is sitting in the wrong position, which means a hinge or jamb plumb problem during install, not a seal defect. The bottom wiper should sit evenly close to the floor along its whole length. Uneven gaps like you're describing usually mean the glass panel is racked slightly in the frame. That unevenness will tear the sweep faster than normal and let water through along the low spots. The hard close is the one I'd worry about most. A properly hung frameless door closes with almost no effort — pushing it across the threshold suggests it's out of square with the opening and binding at the bottom corner. That kind of friction chews through sweeps and eventually stresses the hinges. Worth calling the glass company directly rather than going through the contractor. Most have a warranty window and will send someone out to check hinge plumb and jamb angle for free. Framing it as "I want a warranty inspection before the 90 days is up" tends to get results faster than complaints through a GC middleman. That happened to me too, I think it was when I was about 49. I had an endometrial biopsy to rule out any abnormalities. Then I had a D&C. Things pretty much went back to normal after that. I'm 53 and still get my period, but might skip a month or two every now and then. A couple times I skipped four months.

What you're experiencing isn't unusual, but you should let your gyn know and see what he/she suggests.
