For those of you with an eye for accessorizing...

So I will readily admit that I am horrible at pulling together the right accessories to really make an outfit sing...must of missed that class in school:) So now it is time to pick drawer pulls and I feel like my normally bumbling, accessory-fumbling self. PLEASE help me figure out what drawer pulls would look great with my kitchen!!!

Update on kitchen selections:

* DeWils shaker cabinets in mahogany with cocoa stain

* Caesarstone Nougat countertops

* stainless appliances

Some things to help me figure out (I really am clueless!!):

1) which DESIGN is best...going for a contemporary kitchen with organic elements

2) which SIZE and/or combination of sizes...smallest drawers are 15" and largest are 36"...majority are over 27". I see some photos where the same size is used for all cabs and others where the pull size changes as the cabs get larger.

3) which FINISH...I am thinking brushed nickel/satin nickel to tie in with stainless appliances but I could be totally off.

Let me know if there is other information that can help you help me. Thanks in advance!!

I see a sleek pull in either nickel or chrome. I'd need to see your lights and other finishing touches to be more specific.

I'm like you in picking things out, but i think it'd be really cool if you did some sort of bar pull horizontally on the uppers instead of vertically. I can see brushed nickel there.

liloid, He is a saint. After putting up with me and all these kids and all these animals all these years. tibs, That's what kept happening. He would test different areas and they would be clear and would think all was well. Then when the dishwasher, shower from other end of house, etc. were used, it would push the WAD back to the original pipe that he already had cleared. marda, Would you believe on a blind date 38 years ago? Mr. Man has just always taken care of everything around our home himself. Harryshoe, I know what you mean....but your day will come....I hear that southern New Hampshire is clocked to get about 14 inches of snow tomorrow....or am I dreaming. One thing, you have eyes up in NC, and we're a lot further south than that, and I see nothing yet. Maybe I need to remove some leaves and go poking around some pots. We had 3 days of sleet, ice, and the coup de gras was snow, staying the unheard of 3 days....extremely cold for us. I don't like to get cold feet, so I'm staying indoors until the ground dries out and gets warm again. There are bluebirds going in and out of the nestbox, perhaps making a new pine straw nest--it's not breeding season yet!

I prefer the gel packs that you can put over your entire eye. They are squishy enough that you can shape them over the bridge of your nose. I keep a few in the freezer. I use them for strained muscles more than my eyes and I always wrap them in a cloth.

1) Reading decor books and magazines. Many many times. Visiting here at GWHD and many many home decor blogs. 2) Looking at all sorts of ideas at ALL kinds of place! Store displays, restaurant set-ups, hotels, antique shops and malls etc. Asking questions in fancy stores (and sometimes being ignored!) BUT sometimes -- somesone would any my questions and show me other ways that the table could be set up! Looking at window displays that worked so well -- and others that looked awful (to me!) And -- of course -- looking at rooms in all kinds of homes. (and sitting on my hands so I wouldn't reach over and change stuff LOL!) 3) This is the hard part: Articulating (to myself! LOL) EXACTLY which elements that I thought worked -- and which ones did not! ((the lamp? the number of items? the sizes? the shapes? the colors?)) And finally -- HOW would I change the setting to make the whole arrangement work better visually?? ((add a tray to cozy up all of the small items?; add a book to change the heights? change the tablecloth or lampshade?)) 4) Changing stuff around. Remembering that things are not glued down (well -- at least here! LOL!) Trying a fresh arrangement with something new that might have arrived home .... ((it followed me home!! LOL!)) Carrying lamps around the whole house or shifting artworks around. Cats scrambling to stay out of the way! Hope this helps!! Jan at Rosemary Cottage

The only thing about long horizontal pulls on the upper is clearances. If you do vertical that are at the end of the radius with the door swing.

If you do horizontal, the end that is near the hinges may hit the cabinet or the other handle, because they are so close to each other. I do agree that it would be a very nice look because they would all be the same length ,(but horizontal)

When I read Organic. I thought of these pulls by Ted Boerner for Rocky Mountain Hardware. Unfortunately, I think they are Really Expensive. What I do when faced with something like this is combine hardware so that, for example, the uppers would get the expensive eye candy, and the lowers would get a simple knob or pull that kinda blended in. or coordinated in a simple way. Since your wood is so nice, this could be effective.

You are not Clueless! You could not possibly be with
all the choices you have made so far.
Your kitchen is already looking beautiful.

1) Yes, Go for a contemporary kitchen with organic elements!
1. I am a visual girl, I would need to see the pulls or
  knobs on the cab to think about which size would be best.
3) brushed nickel to tie in with SS appliances

And what Kitchen Faucet are you using? Lighting? and
floors? I just need to think about the details.
What about kitchen stools or bamboo shades? Just thinking
about colors too? Is that red staying? Is red your
favorite color? All sorts of fun you can have in this
space. Enjoy your kitchen journey.

I wanted simple, slender, arched pull so we went with the bridge 5" satin pull 205 from KraftMaid. I think it would look great with you beautiful cabinets.

THANK YOU!!! to everyone for all of your suggestions and input. I apologize for not replying sooner...where does the time go? I wish I could get on here everyday but never seems to work. Anyway, I think we have found a winner.

We found it challenging to balance the things we liked the look of off the cabinetry with what it looked like against the cabinets with how they felt. Boy, it seems like if we found one we liked the look of, it didn't look good against the cabs. Or if we found one that looked good with the cabs, we didn't like the way it felt. Etc etc...

We have almost finalized our choice to be the Atlas A826 pull. It seems to be a nice happy medium between look, fit and feel for our kitchen. Only question now is if a product made in China out of "zinc" is a safe product for a kitchen (where hands are touching food, etc.). Are we being paranoid?
