LOL - thanks for all the nice comments and deepest apologies for those of you still suffering from this intense winter! In July and August when I'm sick of the heat and still have 2-3 months of it left, you can take your revenge. I planned to have a book pocket on the outside, but using mesh for that and then adding the big mesh pouch inside just happened as I was making it. Both pieces of mesh were pulled from old luggage that was being tossed because of broken zippers or handles (or both). I knew they might come in handy!

I noticed those Peace Mocs too, Raven, but I'm a size 9 so no go. A friend has the Teva sandals you bought, and I've admired them. Love the green on the Columbia sandals. Good color! I haven't worn thong sandals in a long time myself, but I do like the look. I'm happy with the two tops I received as well. Most of my clothing comes from thrift shops, but it's nice to get something new once in awhile. And good luck, Maire--I hope you find something. I'll save my suede shoes for fall. Not sure what I'll wear with them. They were described as grey. Looked brownish on my monitor, but in person they're definitely a light brown. Nice color, but not grey. I'll have to find some longish brown pants.

There are some good recommendations here. What I would recommend is that you go to a good shoe and have them properly fitted. I have been suffering from severe Plantar Fasciitis for the past 6 months. After seeing a massage therapist, podiatrist and physical therapist, I am finally getting some relief. In both the physical therapist and podiatrist's offices, they had a display of Vionics. I almost bought them, but was concerned as neither place seemed to know much about them. I went to a local shoe store that carries only the great brands, many of which were talked about above. The sales woman knew what she was talking about. I tried on the Vionics flip flops and hated them. I bought another style of Vionics as well as a pair of Naot's, a pair of Olukai and a pair of another brand I can't remember now. It turns out, I was wearing shoes a size too small. I tried on many, many different shoes and this woman analyzed each pair on my feet. Best thing I ever did, expensive but worth it. What works for one person might not work for someone else and if they don't fit properly, it' s even worse Take the time to be fitted properly. You won't regret it. Good luck!!!

Fun if you can make/embellish them yourself for a fraction of the prices listed. My son is an artist living in a college town and made sandals similar to these this spring and sold them out of an art gallery. He went through the craft-crap accumulated at our house over the years, found more stuff at thrift stores, and made a nice "killing" on the sandals he embellished. He said it reminded him of what we respectfully call "grandma art" my mother used to do, so he took inspiration from her crafting days. And also noted, a fool and his money..... ;-)
