Freezing gravy?

Has anyone here successfully frozen gravy by itself, maybe in half cup or one cup portions?

My stepmother is nearing 80 and she's not eating very well. I'm planning to make freezer meals for her that she can simply microwave. Most will be things I eat, and I'll make enough to have my lunch leftovers and put a serving or two in the freezer for Shirley.

However, she's a big gravy consumer. She regularly eats instant mashed potatoes but she likes homemade gravy. Since I'm not a huge gravy consumer, can I make a big batch and freeze it, so she could just take out a container, microwave it and pour it on her instant potatoes? Or will it become hopelessly watery or separate or congeal beyond use?

I've frozen a lot of things, but never containers of gravy!
