do you play words with friends?

I am addicted to this game. Funny, I never got into scrabble cos it was too boring, but I love the fact that you can take all the time to answer. I've mulled over some answers for hours, and some just come to me right away. I'm getting better, but I've only been playing for a couple months. Took me a while to figure it out. If anyone wants to play, I'm open.

Not sure if you have to have a similar phone device to play? I have an iphone and all the people I play with have iphones.

I've been playing for quite awhile. Loved it for months, starting to lose interest now. I'm playing more Scramble, which is basically boggle with Friends.

I think both are available in the Android market, as well as iPhone.

No, but I'm quite addicted to "boring" Scrabble. LOL I play against the computer online, and with friends in person.

I am an avid Scrabble player on Facebook. Love it. Like you, I have 4 to 5 games going at any given time. I think this is a relative view point. Traditionally, Scrabble is about vocabulary and tile placement. If you use the "word finders" then the game becomes more heavily weighted to the tile placement strategy. It is almost a different game. It really depends what you and the person you are playing enjoy. Everyone knows an "x" can be worth 8 points if played "straight up" or it can be worth 48 points if played on a triple in two directions. So, I would say that people who grew up playing table scrabble consider using those finder sites as cheating and they assign very negative feelings toward people who use them. Same feelings for those who use 2 and 3 word sites or lists. Others, however, play that way openly and still enjoy the game tremendously. Personally, I use the sites on occasion when I know there is something there that I just can't "see". I don't use words that I don't know though. When I don't know a word, I look it up and try to use it another time in a different game, because then the word is "mine". So hate away you traditionalists, but I am happy playing my way and the people I play with are fine too! :)

Like Alisande says you can play as much or as little as you desire. The nice thing is you can mull over a turn for as long as you want without the other person knowing you just can't put a word together. They just think you are at work or something, lol. Not like scrabble where people are biting at the bit for their turn. That's why I said scrabble was boring in that one post, Alisande, because you do have to sit there and wait and if you are playing with a slower player the time gets really long. I do disagree on going to the dictionary, though. I hope I'm not cheating, but I go to the scrabble words lists online with the q, z, and j words to see if there is a word I can play. There's a lot of weird words I never knew existed. Zein, Qi, Za, corf. I've learned many words I didn't know before. And a lot of times I will just put combinations of letters in not sure if it's a word, and once in a while you get a shocker. That's how I discovered corf was a word (for a triple/triple score). If it's not a word the game will tell you and then you just push OK and recall your letters.

Thanks. I have all these papers around me with scribblings on them, trying to figure out the best move. I was hoping they would do the math for me. Yes, it helps to know that words such as "pixzoq" don't exist! I never should have started this game because now I am addicted. I am killing two of my opponents and one other is spanking me. Ha.

I like to play Scramble sometimes because there are only six turns so the game goes a bit faster. I'm moderately good at both Scramble and Words so most of my friends won't play with me. LOL!

I just started playing words last week and I've got games going with DH and DD right now. I love it because I can play with DH right next to me and DD 1000 miles away. Neither one of them has beaten me yet, but DD has a good chance this time.

Sleeperblues, Scramble with Friends is like Boggle where you make as many words as you can in a limited time from a preset grid. The grid changes for each round of play.

I play Words with Friends with my DD, for about 3 months now. We're usually playing 2 games at a time. She's beating me 10-8! We just started 2 new games.

DH and I play Scrabble Scramble. Moves a lot faster than Scrabble. You only have one word to play off of.
