Yes, before getting too enthusiastic about testimonials for foot fungus treatment on a gardening site, better check into corn gluten meal from other sources, or even elsewhere on the GardenWeb. This product has not impressed rose growers for its supposed antifungal effects, and possibly for the same reason that maifleur has noted - it makes a fine growing medium for at least some kinds of fungus. Not something I'd want to try on the basis of testimonials on a personal fungal infection. Corn gluten meal does have its uses in gardening - there's good evidence that it works as an organic pre-emergent herbicide, useful in lawns (also for its fertilizing benefits).

Sumod- The medicine cabinets are simple wood frames with a cabinet-grade plywood back that just sit in the stud cavity. Because of the dimensions, the front of the frame projects about 1"+ beyond the finished wall. The medicine cabinet doors are also plywood with veneered edges and they are attached to the frame with standard cabinet hinges (Euro hinges). The mirrors are just 1/4" plate glass ordered to size from a glass shop and held in place with mirror mastic and a metal strip at the bottom that you don't really see. The guy who did the cabinets just made the medicine cabinets as part of the job. I don't know about the door brand...we live in a large metro area that has lots of door shops and the doors are just solid core maple doors with the center cut out and a maple panel held in with molding. They're not stained; they simply have a couple coats of clear spray lacquer.

I'd suggest getting rid of the elements where possible..for example you have both a shelf and a towel rack-there are many shelves that combine hooks or bars for towels or even both. Go for wood/bamboo in these. Check Etsy for shelves like these, both vintage and handmade..or maybe you're handy enough to DIY. I wouldn't move the shower rack to the opposite wall even though it makes sense-it requires for you to turn when showering..a little thing but once I sprained my back like that:) Think whether you wouldn't want to borrow a deeper color for your walls, from your curtain, say, a shade of green. Darker colors generally do great in small light-less spaces,enveloping them and giving them the liveliness. Light colors reflect light=no light and they have less to reflect, so mid tone colors in spaces like bathrooms and bedrooms with not a lot of light can work very well-they hold their own, so to say. Definitely bring a plant. I don't know what plant would be considered Zen...they're all pretty Zen to me. Just find out what works in darker damper spaces. I know ferns, maybe stag horns, some kinds of orchids..Justina Blakeney's blog has Plant-o-pedia, where you can read about dozens of plants and a care for them. But I'm sure the internet is full of suggestions. After that, I'd consider a rug that reminds me of nature. If you craving something happier-then maybe pattern of leaves etc. If something calmer-wooden mat, teak or maybe bamboo one, would be great. There are all sorts of rugs like seagrass that always look cool, calming, and nicely textured, but I don't know about them enough to recommend them-maybe they withstand the moisture not that great. I hope other posters will chime in with more experience in different rug qualities.

I use bright white LEDs by the windows, which is the only place in my apartment that gets any real sunlight, even in summer, and is where most of my plants live when they're indoors. Now that my plants are actually nice to look at, I've decided that the nicer ones will take turns spending a few days at a time in my bedroom to give me something green to look at when I wake up. Supplemental light works quite well, so long as it's the right kind. Look for bright white bulbs. I use a cheap plug in timer so I don't have to remember anything, and I run the lights about 9 hours a day in winter and 12-14 in summer. Look for the light frequency on the little graphic on the back of the package or on the bulb's base. You need the frequency to be 4500 or higher, which is usually called cool light. Regular incandescent bulbs are iffy because they burn hot, so stick with compact CFLs or LEDs, which are much cooler, last longer, and are very efficient. The nice thing is that you can put one of these bright low-watt bulbs in just about any table lamp. A swing arm lamp would let you change the angle from time to time so the whole plant gets some light. The light needs to shine directly on the leaves, and needs to be close to the plant to be effective.
