That would describe motion blur if, if you are on auto settings and the flash doesnt fire that means that there is enough light and the flash is not necessary. Essentially there is enough light for the shutter to actuate at speed to stop motion. Shutter speed for an object not moving can be around 1/80- 1/100. If your own hand is causing enough movement to cause motion blurr at those shutter speeds, then your hand must shake like the San Andreas Fault. If the subject is moving you should be at lease at 1/160. When using the zoom at it's extended range, take your focal length and x's by 2 to help eliminate camera shake. then work from to eliminate motion blurr of the subject. As this can be the cause of your blurred pictures, Ithink it the focusing mechinism causing probllem. Are you using on focal point or multiple? What AF is it on C, S, M? One other tip to help eliminate camera shake cause by the hand, use the 2 second timer, that way there is a 2 second delay from the time you hit the shutter and the pressure from release your finger wont cause any movement. But..I keep reading the fact that the ink jet ink just won't last. I am printing my own pictures, too..and hoping for the best, but I just bought a Picture It program and it says the pictures will last anywhere from two months (two months!!!!!!!) to forty years...lol. Well, the forty years would probably take care of me and mine (the grandkids might like them longer than that though) but I have yet to see one that lasted only two months. I did a little experimenting and printed one off and pinned it up on my bulletin board in the light and air....it lasted about four months that way until it was a "ghost" picture. I have one printed on plain ol paper, but under glass on my desk here, and it has faded some, but is still nice. The book for the Picture It said that the ink will start "shifting" at about the two month point. I LOVE my digital pictures and you can print so many different sizes and do so much "adjusting" on them. But...I'm afraid ten years down the road, all of my work will be for naught. This is one of my favorite pictures and I treasure it....time will tell, I guess I wrote, "Christmas is Magic" underneath it. The book I was reading said to use the very best photo paper, and, of course, I do that, but I'm still a little worried about this. I've been doing this for about two years and keep going back and checking the pictures. I can't see that they are deteriorating as yet...

OK - I tried uploading directly from my camera to Photobucket - and you cannot do that. DANG! Here is an easy way to upload your pics to a computer (you never need to use the camera software - I really dislike Kodak especially, but if you are comfortable with it, that is ok) Plug your camera in to the computer, or place card into card reader. Go to MY COMPUTER and find the device. Double click on it and your images should pop up. You may see them as thumbnails, tiles, icons, or list - depending on how your computer is set...you can always change that. Click on the first image you want to copy - then hold down the shift key and select the last image you want to copy - this will select all of them in between also. Right click and select copy. Go to the Desktop of the computer. Right click on a blank area and mouse over NEW-> go over to FOLDER and click on that to create a new folder. You can rename it when you create it or just leave it named NEW FOLDER (it doesn't matter). Double click on the folder to open. Right click and select PASTE. Your photos will be zipping into this folder! You can upload to Photobucket like normal from there. This will NOT remove the pictures from your camera card. Delete your folder when you are done. DON'T forget your card if you have removed it from your camera!! You can create the desktop folder at any time - you also don't have to have it located on the desktop - but this would be easiest while you are traveling so you don't forget to delete. You should be able to practice this at home. If you can't shut down the Kodak program - just let it do it's thing - then try it after it has finished. Or try it at a library. The little thumb drives (USB drives) and camera memory cards are the same thing - just in a different package. An external hard drive is just like a thumb drive, just bigger. THumb drives are so easy to lose! They are just the handiest things - but they go missing for me all the time.... Buy some extra cards before you travel. Try them out before you go. Format them in your camera first!! They are cheap and you can NEVER EVER take too many pictures :) If this doesn't make sense at all -I can post screen shots later (probably tomorrow)

Houzz certainly liked my regular photos just fine, I even went above the limit of 10 in one comment section. Every picture I post from my phone, except the 2 I got posted, are turned sideways and I can't work out how to correct it, or why only those 2 I got posted weren't turned. Thank you Sherry. Yes, I think I will really appreciate Sailor Sky since it is a late, and I don't have a lot of lates, and several I do have don't bloom well or long.I really need more very lates, but I don't want more yellows or orange, and it seems so many very lates are that. I wonder if your Tall Dark Stranger will be purple for you, Celeste. I would probably like mine if it were more purple than red, you know how I love purples. I told you Bird Talk has scapes. Well my visiting grand-dog barrelled through it, and literally chopped off one of the fans. I thought at first a deer had come through and chomped, but the foliage and bloom is lying on the ground. You have to know with the other daylilies all around, it is the one I am waiting on. I still have 1 scape though. Brad, thanks for confirming that. Last year I could not find the tag on either of them. Tags always mysteriously disappear for me. I struggled with them last year because they looked very much alike and I could not tell from pictures. This year they look different. Isn't it funny how the bright colors seem to be very vigorous growers and bloomers? Brave World has done well here for the last 2 years after I threatened it. Debra, I forgot to bring your attention to Lavender Stardust after you mentioned Motown Blues looked like it. Here Lavender Stardust, at least this year, is closer to the color of Hush Little Baby than Motown Blues, at least the Motown Blues you saw. I thought I had taken a picture of Lavender Stardus, but can't find it now.
