That Time Of Year Again! (Question Included)

Hi everyone,

It's that time of year again! The fruits veggies are ripening happily in the garden (as well as the flowers, which gardening has been keeping me busy lately). You all remember I posted last year about fried green tomatoes. No I haven't had any this year yet lol, but hopefully very soon (maybe this weekend). Which leads me into the topic of this thread. I watched Paula Deen make FGT's and she also made the dressing that she serves at her restaurant. It's called Vidalia Onion Dressing and it's 1 cup of white onions (1/2 of a medium onion), diced. 1 Tblsp. rice wine vinegar. 1/2 cup mayo and 1 Tblsp. brown sugar. My question is I don't have any rice wine vinegar, can I use plain or even red wine vinegar instead?

What I was planning on was making some BLFGTs (BLTs with fried green tomatoes) and I was thinking of using this dressing instead of plain old mayo. What do you think?

Thank you!
