Those were the 2 styles I also was thinking, but my guess is also just a wild stab! Do the samples all tie into each other - or am I heading into a big miss-match, no design theme!?

Bella and dazed hit the nail on the head in terms of your style. Beautiful inspiration pictures. I think that they can tie into each other and I don't think it is miss matched at all. I think you know what you like but did not know what to call it. Welcome to my world. LOL!

I'd say Old World/Tuscany, too.

tinker: don't feel bad! Your style is very consistent in term of the things you show here. And it's natural to change your style over time. We don't love to wear the same clothes we did 20 years ago (except for Magnaverde- haha..j/k) and it's the same way w/ furnishing. Especially if you are young and still developing your personal style. I notice that when people become older, they are more affirmed of what they love (thru trial and error I bet) and are more assertive in what they want, regardless of trends.

Trust me, you are nowhere nearly as schizophrenic as I am in term of style. :-)

Asking Deborahnj ... what "mess" are you referring to in your 2nd photo (of breakfast set)? Thanks for the laugh ... you made my day! My house doesn't look that clean and straightened up even on a good day!

Looks like everyone has you pegged...I was going to say Old World too. Your choices are very much like mine. I have Hillsdale barstools and Hooker furniture in my office. I also have alot of nail head trim on dining room chairs and sofa/loveseat. I think everything you picked flows well together. The only thing that is only "slightly" not the same would be your dining room set. I think it still fits fine but maybe could be a bit chunkier, distressed wood to fit with your other choices.

Deborahnj, LOVE your home and.. your bar stools match the table I posted! What quality would you say the bar-stools are? I just came back from furniture shopping - looking for that new sofa, and after reviewing your photo's I realize I also kike the same type of sofa arms, (fat & rolled.. gee that almost sounds like my post holiday tummy! YIKES!)

Where is the touch of English - the bedroom.. or in general???

My dining room... I wouldn't buy it today, for the new house, oh well - I paid too much to for it and MUST keep it. The wood is distressed, but if definitely isn't chunky.

Lindy and Tinker, the desk I referenced earlier is Hooker and my bar stools are either Powell or Hillsdale. I see it Tinker, it didn't register this a.m. I actually posted for help months ago and Les found them for me and I ordered them online and we love them.

The stools are perfect - they match the table! I am still confused because I seem to like and appreciate so many different styles. I walk into the furniture stores and I like most (except contemporary - that I am sure is not my style). Looking at the English manor photo, and the lights - I would say they aren't something I would choose. I 'like' it, think it is beautiful... but it would be out of my comfort zone.

Looks Italian to me, definitely not French nor do I see English. Old World European is a good way to describe it, that way you're not limiting it to one country.

Tinker, I was looking for an English style room that was less delicate and formal or frou frou, as that wasn't the type of English I was seeing. Something about the chunkiness and rounded bases/trims. Maybe I see an English pub or manor or a library thing? dunno :)

I'm not very familiar with the Tuscan style other than a general appearance and your pieces just didn't send me there for some reason ... Old World European is good :)

An eclectic blend is very nice. You've been traveling abroad and picked up a variety of nice pieces that relate well to each other in some way ... just like the locals :)

Squirrel, yep the Churchill stool is one of the two you recommended to Tinker. That is the model that I have.

Squirrel, check out my spend $ 100 thread, I just purchased a chest from a seller on CL and girl his house was 100% old world European with touches of English. It would have been perfect inspiration for Tinker. I'm going to scour the internet to try and see if I can find at least some things that I saw for inspiration.

Squirrel, of course now that I'm trying to find Old World on the internet to show you, I can't find anything. The seller did say that he had a lot of Henredon, Baker and Maitland-Smith mixed with antique pieces. Oh he had a Schonbeck crystal chandelier, so ultra, ultra divalicious!

I think every one is on the right track, old world.....but I still believe that when you love a piece of furniture, just for itself and not because it will match anything else.... you will never go wrong.
