I would guess about the same. I'd recommend a low pile with a rug pad so all the doors don't shift the rug around. Best thing is to purchase a few different rugs and try the out.

OK.. so. In our new master bath (not completely finished yet) I have: -polished nickel for all the faucets, showers, etc -antique brass knobs/handles for the vanity -pendants on black cords. The shades are glass; but there are copper details in the pendants(canopies etc) -very dark oil rubbed bronze for the door handle(door to the lavatory; we enclosed it) I can't even tell you how scared I was to mix it like that. I was scared to the point of my heart pounding..which is totally inadequate, as this is design after all, and not a brain surgery. Believe it or not-finally seeing it all together-it works. Polished nickel works with itself (lol) and the wall tile, and with the vanity counter top Antique brass works with the vanity itself, being color close to it. It's shapely; so the contrast is in the shape rather than color. The shape repeats the shape of the floor tile-the reason I picked them in the first place. Black cords work with the almost black door handle Copper works with the veining in the vanity counter top, and picks up the flooring color a bit, them both being warm and deep. My point is-as long as you can find a friend(not a twin, but a friend)) for any of your choices..chances are you're going to be fine. Your tortoise shell handle, for example, has a bit of this brass color inside. The black handles, in case you decide to go with them, will echo the cords. If you feel you need to repeat the brass more-you can find brass accessories. Brass was a hit several decades ago..you can find something quirky, cute, and/or useful for cheap. The knob you posted later is too jarring to me..you do want not only to make the colors flow, but to preserve the overall character of the bathroom. And your bathroom is a different lady that that knob. That's my feeling. I'd keep the pendants you love, and try to find a friend for them. Who knows, maybe even gold in your hooks will be enough to pull it off. Maybe you'll need to add an accessory or two. After all, even though I know nobody likes to redo things-you'll be able to change the knobs or to spray the pendants. But it might as well just work, you know? It might work together perfectly well. Just don't concentrate on metallic finishes only..they have color, but other things have color too. They give certain feel-other things give certain feel too. I think you're heading for a beautiful space here.

I agree with necessity of UCL for your counter top workspace... Not a kitchen, but in our livingroom (with 8'4") ceilings we recently removed the (short) rod-hung ceiling fan (similar to what you have in your photo), and replaced it with a prettier carved-wood "hugger" (no hang) ceiling fan (gain in both aesthetics and head clearance), and installed a set of four small dimmable slightly recessed LED lights, that illuminate the space much better than the ceiling fan kit-light ever could have. I could use some advice on what type of lighting to use in our entry way and the tiny hall leading to the kitchen. I need help with kitchen lighting too! We are presently getting quotes for new cabinets, pendant lighting over the peninsula etc. I've learned a lot here on Houzz, but lighting still vexes me. Should all the lighting fixtures on a main floor be in the same finish? All answers welcome if you have a sec. Thanks and have a great day!
