Fisher Paykel GWL10US spin cycle problem
Comments (1)I was looking at the F&P's today, ready to buy one w/my husbands okay, of course. When I was speaking w/the sales rep. I asked about repairs and getting parts and he stated there is stock in the U.S. for this brand (not sure about your make). I was at Lowe's and was also informed that you can get parts from Sears. Hope this helps...See MoreFisher Paykel GWL10 spin problem
Comments (7)It's normal to feel some "cogging" from the magnets in the SmartDrive motor when rotating the basket by hand. F&P bearings don't fail very often, although it surely can happen. The control board monitors and directly controls the rotational speed of the motor, so theoretically it should trigger a fault code if the motor can't reach the target speed. If you aren't getting any fault codes, then something else may be wrong, such as a clogged diverter valve that is allowing the water to partially recirculate during drain. Or, possibly a piece of clothing such as a sock or some other foreign object is caught under the inner basket. Run these tests and report the results. - With the machine's power off, press and hold Wash Temp Down, then press Power at the same time. The panel should turn on in Diagnostic Mode. - Press Spin Speed Up (or Down as needed) to turn on BOTH the Hold and Slow lights. The Wash Progress lights indicate the last recorded Fault Code in binary numbering. Add up the total of the lights that are on, that's the fault code. From left to right, the eight lights are numbered 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1. You may not have a code displayed. - Press the Delicate cycle button. This activates the diverter valve for testing. The Delicate light will come on, but nothing else obvious happens at this point, so don't be concerned about that. - Press Wash Temp Down to turn on the cold water (again to turn it off). Press Wash Temp Up to check the hot water. Let the machine fill with just enough water to see it coming up in the tub. - If less than 3 mins since you turned on Delicate, wait a little longer after filling the water. Otherwise, press Regular to turn on the pump. Water should shower out of the recirculation port at the top right-rear of the tub, and NO WATER should come out of the drain hose. Note also if the pump sounds normal, or is noisy similar to what you hear during the spin problem. - Press both Regular and Delicate to turn the pump and diverter off. Wait 3+ mins again. Press Regular to turn the pump back on (do not press Delicate). Water should flow out the drain hose, and NONE from the recirculation port. Let the water drain fully, and note again if the pump sounds normal....See Morefisher paykel iwl16 reassembly/spin cycle problem
Comments (2)Yes, you have the assembly order wrong. Disassemble all of it again. If you have any of those pieces UNDER the basket, pull the basket and retrieve it. Nothing goes on the shaft under the basket. Inside the basket, place the white "drive spline" (the piece with the metal base) atop the shaft opening, with the metal base down. Then place the green "driven spline" (which takes the anchor screws) atop the white piece. Secure it with the screws, just tight enough to be snug ... NOT excessively tight, as the pieces are plastic. The white driven spine should be free to jiggle a little inside. Those two pieces comprise the spin clutch. When the tub fills with water, air is caught beneath the basket and it floats upward about 3/8" to disengage from the drive spline (which is held down on the shaft by the agitator above it), allowing the basket to "free wheel" on the shaft while the agitator continues to be driven by the motor. When the water drains, the basket settles back down so the cogs atop the drive spline mesh with the cogs on the driven spline for driving the basket to spin. Of course, the agitator spins also. Set the basket into the tub atop the shaft. Place the agitator onto the shaft inside the basket. Tighten the wing nut to snug, again, not excessively tight....See Morefisher paykel washer gwl11 won't rinse/spin
Comments (6)A bit interesting that the fault triggers at the point of spin and not earlier during agitation. Agitation of course involves the same drive motor running in stepping-control motion. Fault 243 (11110011) - Stepper Test Failure Rotor Position Sensor (RPS) Fault. The Motor Control Module has attempted a motor step test and found the motor has not stepped to the correct position. Source: Wiring Action: Check the RPS harness for continuity and that the connectors are are not loosened from the RPS and/or Motor Control Module. Source: Rotor Position Sensor Action: Check the RPS with an RPS tester [Note: This is an F&P service tool. There is no other way to directly test the RPS. DO NOT attempt a resistance reading on it with a volt/ohm meter]. Fit a new RPS if found faulty. [Note: A replacement RPS is not too expensive to just replace it if suspect.] Source: Motor Control Module Action: Replace the MCU Source: Motor Action: Check continuity of motor phases. Check continuity of the bridge terminal on the stator and observe that it is not burnt. Replace the stator....See Moreqwe2009
