I did it! It's finally done after 2 or 3 years.
Comments (6)I can ask, Donna, but that does not mean she will remember to bring it. This is the first trip with the baby, and as she will probably be coming alone, she will be taxed to just get the two of them here! But I will remind her. I washed the cloth, and it did shrink a little. But it was just a little too long, so that is just fine. It is a little narrow with the shrinkage, but it stretches out enough if I pull it a little. All and all, considering this pattern was not my first choice, I am happy with it. My china is a quite old Haviland Limoges set with sprays of pink and chartruse flowers on a white background, so the hearts and flowers will match in tone quite nicely....See MoreAfter 2+ years, DIY kitchen remodel complete!
Comments (46)doraville>>>Are you liking the floor? It looks great. Where did you get it? I've been considering strand woven bamboo. The flooring is Teragren Synergy Strand bamboo, color Java. It is hard as a rock and dense, and also not too thick (1/2"). It looks great and works great. More details here: http://www.teragren.com/products_flooring_synergy.html We bought it, where else, in Dalton Georgia. Actually Calhoun, near Dalton, at True Hardwoods (http://www.truehardwoods.com/home.html). They had the best price by far - all I had to do was go up there and pick it up in the van....See MoreUpdate of 80's country kitchen finally complete!!

Comments (15)Re: Ken's comment about edging. I agree, there's nothing like an excellent edge to elevate a garden from ordinary to professional first impression. A good edge distracts from other less attractive characteristics, without drawing attention to itself or being another "feature." So, what is your edging technique, Ireena? What tool do you use? Do sharpen it before edging or early in the season? I'm not a conifer expert, but I've gardened and landscaped long enough to appreciate the form and variety of your creation. I hope your heart is gladdened every day you see it. Marie...See MoreJon T
