Recommendations for Long Island Cabinet Dealer
Comments (4)your welcome. we went with the merillat masterpiece and they are due in appx. 2 weeks. I actually went to the Wall NJ showroom so I dont know who you would speak to by you but for reference my guy is Mike Campbell, super nice and very helpful. Durasupreme makes a great product as well but I just happened to like the paint finish on the merillat better, we went with maple cabinets with vanilla bean glaze. I will tell you one thing, and this applies to cabinets from any store, ask the price of the door style you pick. I did not know that there was such a difference in price for different door styles! The more detail that's on the door the pricier it is and somehow I always manage to pick out the most expensive of everything......I dont mean to but it just happens! If you have any more questions I would be more than happy to answer them. Here is a link that might be useful: merillat...See MoreNeed Custom Cabinet Recommendations- PA/NY/NJ
Comments (43)Thanks munkel. I will add them too. My builder has some people he'd like me to talk to as well. He is great, he was fine when I told him we wouldn't use the person he had originally sent us to and is willing to either work w/ whomever we find our help us to find someone he has worked w/ before. We also got another quote back, from paradise custom kitchens. they came in a little higher than wellsford- $38,000 + $4000-$5000 installation + tax, but that wasn't too bad either. So, we are meeting w/ wellsford on tuesday and going to oxford cabinets on tuesday, and we're also waiting for quotes back from a few other people that I sent pictures to via email....See MorePlease Help Custom/Semi-Custom Kitchen Cabinets options Los Angeles
Comments (16)I would NEVER recommend using reform cabinets. I am a designer and ordered these for a client. After 17 weeks (the promised lead time was 14-16 weeks) we got the cabinets. Had the order come in accurate it wouldn't be a big deal that it was 1 week late. Unfortunately, they didn't come in even close to accurate and we have had to go back and forth multiple times to get the additional pieces that were either missing or incorrectly sized. It has now been 6 months since we placed the order and still don't have all of the missing or incorrect pieces. The customer service rep has told us multiple times that remaining pieces will be "completed next week" 3 times now and they have failed to meet the deadline twice. If they actually ship next week as told, we will have spent hours on phone calls and waited over 6 months to get the kitchen to be delivered accurately and completely....See MoreWhat semi custom/custom cabinet brands would you recommend (or not)?
Comments (3)Because of our terrific experience with our current kitchen, we are using Scherr’s for our next one (new construction). Leon is fantastic to work with - we give him the basic layout and appliance models # and he makes it all fit. None of those issues with fridge doors that won’t open and improper spacing and such. I wanted lower wall ovens than “standard“ and slots for sheet pans and pizza pans and cutting boards above, shallow drawer below for pie pans. The best best cabinet in the kitchen. We are doing 30” deep custom cabinets along one wall and the island (30” counters are the best thing we did in our current kitchen) and they found us 27” blum soft-close rails, so our drawers and pullouts are huge. The other “custom” cabinet makers would build 30” deep boxes, but all the pullouts (all the bottom cabs and pantries) would only be standard 24” rails, so the drawers and pullouts would all be short. There’s no point in paying extra for that. Better to pull standard cost cabinets 6” away from the wall to get the extra counter space. What I also love about Scherrs is my mixed-hardwood drawer boxes. They are made from cast offs or short cuts from all kinds of beautiful woods, but they are only seen when we pull a drawer out. They have all sorts of material options for drawer boxes and cabinets and doors, including making door fronts for IKEA cabinets. Many woods, many finishes, many styles. Totally customizable for a very reasonable price. The biggest drawback is that there is a long lead time right now. Get your deposit in early for your place in line. You can work on the details and finalize later. And Made in the USA in Minot, ND! Scherr’s Website with excellent cabinet FAQ...See MoreRelated Professionals
