in planning my kitchen renovation this site has been such a huge help. every post i read brings about new decisions to be made that i havent thought of. so aside from the big standard items (budget, layout), can we make a list of things to think about? and why did you choose what you chose?
i will start with the big obvious ones:
1. cabinets (inset, overlay full or partial) color, door style
2. cabinets
3. island seating or no? sink or no?
4. flooring
5. paint color on walls
6. appliances
these are some i didnt think about but now am considering because of this forum
7. sink: double or single bowl
8. sink: depth...can you explain why you chose 7 vs 10"
9. faucet: one handle or two (someone said 2 bugged them from a use standpoint but they liked the look, never thought about that!)
- trash pullouts: every one says 2 cans are so great! but dont you really need three? one for garbage, one for paper recycling and one for cans?
- backsplash
- lighting: cans/pedants
okay please add if there are other things to consider that i forgot! thanks
