The rule of thumb I use when speaking to customers is... the more baking you do the more you should consider / lean towards Duel Fuel, that's not to say you wont get good baking results from gas ovens, just saying for those people who love to bake a duel fuel unit from any manufacture not just capital would be a better fit. Basic Upsides Open burners larger oven cavity Meat Probe Better for baking Moisture feature Larger capacity for rotisserie cooking Self Clean Basic Downsides Costs more Digital controls I understand your frustration of not been able to see one, but I will say that over 95% ( guessing ) of my customers who purchased a Duel Fuel unit did not seen the range prior to purchase. All without exception have been thrilled not only with the function but also the overall look and feel.

Please, if you own a Kitchen Aid Architect ll slide in all gas convection range (in white) - or - if you have seen one with your own eyes - installed and working - in anyone else's kitchen - or - have a dear and trusted relative/friend/neighbor whose word you can believe who claims to really own one of these ranges, could you please let me know asap. I ordered mine on 9/11 of this year from Sears - and have STILL not received it - KA gives no credible info on the range - Sears is helpless in the face of Whirlpool - and now I'm out a lot of dough (w/templates now made around the floor model of this stove from Sears). Others (Lowes/Best Buy) claim they cannot get the range until mid-December. What's w/Whirlpool/Kitchen-aid?!! Does ANYONE really own one of these .. or is it an imaginary range? In advance: Thank you thank you thank you - from yours truly, whose good humor and sanity is becoming seriously compromised over this severe lack of accountability from some seriously major players in the world of appliances (and I'm not even going into details over how long it took -- from another, smaller store, to get the KA built in French door fridge ... months!!! and Microwave .. months!!! - thought it was the store -- now I know it's Kitchen-Aid) .

Justin, I believe Nomen's point regarding the Euphorbia is in reference to the common nursery practice of grafting cacti/succulents to obtain faster, easier growth of the scion. (Or in the more extreme case of the bright red, yellow, or pink Gymnocalycium, simply making it possible for them to survive.) As you are no doubt aware, at some point the scion will break free of the rootstock. (For that matter, most members of John Q Public will likely not even be aware that the plant is a graft to begin with.) Most of the general public would be unaware of this, and will likely be dismayed when this occurs and have no clue as what to do (if anything) to salvage the situation. This, in turn, can lead to disappointment and turn them off from trying again. Unfortunately, there is a very real limit to how much info can feasibly be included on a tag. Tags for such plants really should mention the fact that it is a graft. The more observant novice, noticing such, might take it upon themselves to do some research so they know what is in store for their plant's future, or later , when they start seeking help, they'll have a search term to help. Nomen might suggest that the plants sold should not be grafted at all. And I understand that viewpoint. However, looking at this from a nursery's standpoint, I can also see the efficacy of grafting. Some plants like the aforementioned chlorophyll free Gymnocalycium are popular novelty plants that can survive no other way. Other plants commonly used as scions grow much more vigorously when grafted making it possible to grow up saleable (or salable depending on one's spelling preference ;-) ) plants faster and at significantly lower cost to the consumer.

Does anyone have experience with this Range? It is the "modern glass" version of the GE Cafe line. I don't seem much about it out there. Does the glass on the surface get dinged and chipped? Is it durable? Cleanable? Or have they already discontinued it in favor of the matte look appliances? I haven't seen the modern glass in person but I saw the new matte white range in a store yesterday and was not impressed with the chinzy storage drawer beneath the oven. Buying GE would go against the advice of our repair man, who is awesome and honest. He doesn't think GE's are well built. My sister's both have and very much like their GE's. One has an older Cafe, with the bottom drawer as an oven. It's much sturdier than the matte white version I saw yesterday. I know people (including me!) love that look, but I'm a function girl at heart. But Costco has this one, and I could deal. They also have the matte black. I was over stainless when I bought my stainless Bosch 18 years ago. My repair man endorses he idea of getting another Bosch. But those too have gone downhill since my last purchase... Any thoughts appreciated.
