Home Depot Carpet Colors

Has anyone used the stock carpet colors available through Home Depot. There are several types -- plush, frize, etc. -- and some have stainmaster. You can take home small carpet samples that they have on hand at the store. The prices are between $2 and $2.50 per s.f. for the colors that they stock. These seem like a good value and install is only $140 right now.

My family room is painted BM's "Danville Tan". I am wondering if any of the stock colors of these Home Depot carpets will work for me. I keep looking at the samples and nothing seems right.

The plush is by "Beaulieu of America". The plush sample that I have is called "Winning Streak" and the color is "10 Truffle". The pattern is by "Royalty". The style is "Royal Gorge 958" and the color is "95805 Origami".

can you provide internet links to look at, from the home depot site, I took a quick look but did not come with anything, even searching with your numbers ?

We bought a frieze from Depot, at the time it wasn't on a roll in the store which is what I think you're talking about. The one we used would work with any paint color.. Hubby & I both loved it. It was the one with a sandy/light base with flecks of green, taupe, maybe mauve. The other we liked was the green base.

Looking at a chip online of Danville Tan, the frieze we used looks like it would go with it.

I purchased the Puresque "Lake Forest" line last year. It was installed August 22, 2007 over a 1/2' - 8 pound pad. My wife and I are the only two living in our house and we are both are over 70. The carpet for unknown reasons got so dirty it had to be cleaned last week by professional cleaners. The cleaners could not believe how dirty the carpet had gotten in a year like the odor stuff had collected dirt into the carpet. The ware and tear in traffic areas was unbelievable. He suggested that I have a manufactures rep come and take a look at the ware and fraying of the carpet. I arranged to do that 2 weeks ago. The new carpet is almost as bad as the 13 year carpet that it replaced. Do you have any comments about the "Puresque" carpeting since it is suppose to be so great? Beaulieu of America rep want come and look at it saying that the warranty does not cover matting or retention. What is covered by the 15 year ware warranty???? Bumping a 2 yr old thread cause i have the same question! Command Performance III, face wt 58.8 oz, twist 5.5 x 5.5. At HD's pricepoint, it'll end up more expensive than my 3/4" solid Brazilian cherry floors! Trying to find a match at a better price. Tia!

Will home depot take old paint and make a different color?

As a former paint associate, the likely answer is no for a few reasons. #1 the color you have and the color you need may not be the same base, i.e. you can’t make a color in medium base from light base paint and vice versa. #2 darker colors take more pigment, and sinc the paint is already tinted, there may not be enough room in the can for more pigment and to mix it properly. #3 even though it’s Behr it’s old paint and the store cannot guarantee it was stored properly, so they wouldn’t be able to guarantee the outcome. If they messed up your paint they’d be on the hook for replacements. Having said all that, you might find an adventurous and experienced associate on a slow night who would be willing to try. But I wouldn’t try it during the busy weekend. Your best bet is to see if they have the color in the computer, get a sample and try adding black or whatever is needed to get the desired color before mixing the gallons. If it only needed a little black, you could add the color yourself and just bring the gallons in to be shaken. They’ll reshake anyone’s paint as long as the lid closes tight.

Agree. Stay away. My story with Lowes. Simple vinyl plank kitchen/laundry room vinyl plank installation. They put the planks over a needed drain, by the water heater. Hybrid water heater, which drains like an AC unit. Due to the out of the way location, we didn’t notice the problem for 3 months, when water starting coming out between the plank seams when we walked on them. The inside of the walls were filled with black mold and had to be ripped out as well as the floor. Lowes policy is to have these issues handled by a legal department in another state. The local store wouldn’t talk to us. It turned out Lowes has a national subcontractor who then subscontracts the work to a local store, who then uses independent subs. Lowes ignored us until we sent our Demand notice, required before we could file in small claims court. Only then, did Lowes legal contact us and paid the full amount we requested. We had no kitchen for close to 3 months.,

Sorry, colors aren't available online. If anyone has carpet suggestions from elsewhere, that is fine. I can compare the colors for a close match.

There is no carpet on a roll at the store, but there are 4 inch square samples that you can take from the store. There are many different shades of taupe/brown.

I am wondering if I should try to match the wall color closely for a unified look, or go with a either a lighter or darker shade for contrast. I am afraid if I go darker, the room will look like a cave.

I thnk you're doing this the hard way. You like the price point of the carpet so pick a color that you like and that you think/hope will work with the paint color you have. If after the install it's not quite right - change the paint. It's so much easier to make the small adjustments to paint than to struggle trying to match/blend carpet that cannot be changed. If the existing Danville Tan isn't quite right you can easily go a bit lighter/darker/grayer/browner/redder - whatever you need to do.

Long story and unfortunately, I'm kinda stuck. I don't forsee paying for a painter to redo the wall color. I am sure I can find carpet -- whether it's Home Depot's or another -- just hoping for some suggestions if someone has used this wall color. Lighter or darker than wall color, for example?
