Ticor Sinks
Comments (2)One comes with the sink grids that sit at the bottom of the sink, the other doesn't. If you're buying them online, check the pictures and specs carefully as the Etailers aren't always consistent in their model numbers....See MoreTicor or Kraus Sink
Comments (8)I agree with Jscout, that you could go with either. Likely you should base your decision on which sink has the exact shape and configuration you like (e.g. go for that offset drain if it's available in the sink size you are looking at!). Kraus also sells faucets - we have one and love it. We bought our Kraus faucet at expressdecor; they are always offering bet. 5% and 15% off. I just checked the website and right now it is a 10% off. Free shipping. We got ours very fast, and it was packed beautifully. They have excellent deals for buying a Kraus faucet and sink together, so perhaps that will swing your vote one way or the other if you are also shopping for a faucet. Comments (9)It's not that the drains are not great and have to be replaced, it's that, IMHO, they're only average. So, knowing that I wanted to upgrade from average, I got the DuoStrainers. (OK, they're not "great!", they're "average".) I had "average" strainers in my last kitchen and over a short time the strainer baskets stopped working well...they didn't seal properly w/o dishwashing detergent around the bottom to seal and the baskets didn't always stay in the "open" position. With the DuoStrainers, neither of these things have been a problem! Many people here have gone ahead & used the ones that come with the Ticors and there haven't been any complaints....See MoreSink choice woes - Buehl and others - please tell me about Ticor!
Comments (8)I was just about to post a thread asking about Ticor vs. Franke. I am glad you asked about the sound deadening because I wasn't even worried about it. I looked on galaxytoolsupply for the Ticor S405D sink I am interested in and I think it has the same little square of vinyl. I have looked at those photos a hundred times and never noticed it. It seems like all of the Ticor owners are extremely happy and the prices are so good. Does the finish affect your opinion of the various manufacturers? My husband was dead set against any stainless sink until he saw the Franke Orca. I could be kidding myself about the finish difference between the Ticor and Franke but the Franke sure is "purdy". But I don't know if it is worth the $$$ difference especially when you consider the accessories are all sold separately on the Franke. I thought I would end up with Silgranit because they have so many configuration options and it seems indestructible. I was surprised that I did not end up liking it when I saw it in person but many people here love their Silgranite sinks....See More- 16 years ago
