Something to brighten the winter months.....a sunflower from a couple of summers ago.

It is a kumquat tree. I have one in a pot that gives me about 25 fruits a year.

Hi, Casey. That statue of the Spencer girl was put there by the Class of '59 of the school I went to - Bishop Spencer College. People have put a scarf around her neck, put daffodils in her hands in the spring, and I have a picture of my sister and me with an ice cream cone in her hands (we put it there).

We call those succulents a "hen and little chickens" here, but one of my friends refers to them as a "hen and little biddies".
They're one of my favorite plants.
I don't know why.

Thanks for posting all the great photos every day. I enjoy seeing them. This plant is probably not hens and chicks. It's a fast grower and usually grey, but blushes pink with more sun/less water. I don't know the name of it (or many other succulents growing in my yard). The people at the Cacti and Succulent Forum here at GW are very helpful with names. Linda
