3 inch LED with 2700K??
Comments (4)Some manufacturers come to mind WAC lighting http://www.waclighting.com/USA/ You should be able to find entire solutions at either your local lighting store or online For example http://www.pegasuslighting.com/3inch-12v-mr16-halogen-recessed-lighting-housings.html The only thing small about 3" lighting is the aperture. There is quite a bit of stuff (housing, power supply) that gets stored above the ceiling....See MoreCree CR6 TrueWhite Cans - 2700k vs 3000k
Comments (2)I went with 2700k because, at the time, 2700k was what was available at a reasonable cost. The Sylvania 3000k had a turn-on delay, and cost quite a bit more (and I have 47 recessed LEDs so far). If price/delay/dimming were competitive, I would go with either 3000 or 3500. I'm not dissatisfied in any way with the 2700, I just think that slightly whiter looks better, as long as all rooms match (no harsh change from one color temperature to another). Comments (2)Lots of threads on this already. My permits were pulled before the latest Title 24 became effective, so I may not be totally up to date. Wherever you can still install Edison sockets, by also installing dimmers, you should do that. Cost will be lower, and options down the line will be easier. Cannot do that for the kitchen. You may still be able to use Edison in the bath, if it is on a vacancy switch. I wish that I had spent the extra money to put in CR4 instead of CR6 in my living room. They just look better, and I didn't have anywhere in the LR that needed 800 lumens. I probably put too many CR6 lights in my LR/DR. I should have planned on supplementing with some nice reading lamps. I can't remember what I paid for installation (San Jose), but my guy is quite reasonable for add-ons. He had quoted base on 6 cans in the LR/DR, I put 21 plus cove lighting. The LR6 doesn't dim much, and is expensive. Sconces. Plan some lovely sconces. I lost a few in my remodel, and regret that....See More2700K undercabinet lighting vs 3000K
Comments (9)There is a huge difference in how the finishes in your kitchen will appear under the various kelvins. We took a 12" piece of Yellow River granite to the lighting store where they had a kitchen venue appointed with various kelvins. Under the 2700K the granite looked totally gold/brown. Under the 5,000K the granite looked like it was completely gray. Under 3,500K the granite looked as expected, multiple colors including almond, golden brown and bluish gray. I also noticed that their stainless appliances and white cabinets looked vastly different as the different Kelvins were turned on and off. The stainless steel looked dingy under the 2700 and cabinets looked yellow. The 5,000 K made everything seem to cold. We got the 3,500k Cree LEDs and we are totally happy with the "color" of everything in our kitchen....See Morelightguy
