Love the settee, what a great price too. I made a cushion for our settee out of a twin sized egg-crate bed topper that we no longer needed. Worked out great. So if you see one of those at Goodwill or other thrift go for it.
Personally I like the mix of wicker and wood. You've lots of porch to fill.

I am one for groupings and I definitely would like to see a small table next to the love seat or one of the other chairs with a lamp on it. I have 2 black wicker chairs/rockers on my porch with a painted table and a lamp with a black shade on it. I like the idea of angling the love seat to the right of door.

And by the way, what an unbelievable setting your house is in. Gorgeous! When I said to the right of the door. I really meant keep the love seat on the side. But i would also consider a swinging bench. I found one for my old house for about 50.00 at an antique store and that would look very cool on your large porch to the far left, maybe even paint it funky looking for a POP. I would also consider doing a cafe size table and 2 chairs. Like one poster said, you have a lot of space to play with. Fun!

I meant to say that the love seat would look good where it is , on the right side. not on the 'side' although, rambling on, if you did a porch swing, it might look better where that love seat is and then put a love seat grouping over to the left side. Good luck! lol lol

I like the love seat over near the corner of the porch with the wall as a backdrop. I also like the idea of leaving the tables unpainted. I gave you more information about a cushion on my the table thread, but justgotabme's idea is a good one.

oopsie - Very pretty proch!

oopsie - you *are* rambling LOL! I think you like it angled in the last picture? I also have a double rocker (oak, not painted though DH says I can paint it white when it needs refinishing), and a big old pickle crock in the basement. Here are pics of those (PS'd to show white trim we're going to install in the spring).

The pickle crock was to be used for umbrellas, I can also fill it with branches for winter, but when it gets really cold out I like to bring it in so it doesn't get water in it and then freeze (and crack).

I also have 2 small (2ft x 2ft x 2ft high) wooden (maple? very close to the honey maple finish we have on our interior trim) tables I wanted to paint white, so I can group things. They use to be in our FR but didn't match the coffee table.

I haven't heard back yet on the wicker chairs that were on CL a month ago (ad's still there). I was thinking wood on one side, wicker on the other (though I have 2 wooden tables so one on each side b/t the windows to hide the outlets)? If I get the chairs it will go a long way toward filling the (48 ft long) porch. Though I'd love a swing too if we could find the right spot to put it where it won't bang into house or railing. I can live w/o a swing as long as I have my rocker(s) though!

Wouldn't you know I got rid of egg crate stuff when we moved - but I'll check thrifts and sales for a long cushion I can recover (if I can find Sunbrella material cheap). My mom might have one - she bought new sunroom furniture in the fall, didn't like the cushions so I think she bought all new cushions, maybe I can get the old ones and recover those (rusty red). I have 4 cushions we used to use on our high-backed wrought iron patio chairs, but may be too short for the settee and too big for chairs (and not wide enough).

BTW, oopsie, I love brick and think your porch looks great with the black shutters and the dark (black?) rockers.

NHB - I'll go check out your thread again - didn't mean to hijack it but I *will* try the Valentine's line on DH when he notices the wicker piece in the basement LOL. I love all of your porches, old house and new.

me? ramble?? NEVER...WELL WHEN i CRUISE THESE SITES, I AM IN AN ADD MODE. regarding the swing, you do know that you would hang it so you see it from the side when you look at the house, right? When you said 'so it doesn't hit the house...I did wonder. I would say you put that ole swing about where the love seat was but far enough into the porch so you don't hit the railing, maybe in between the two windows?. I miss my swing. I used to sit out on it often with a magazine or my computer. (yes, black rockers)

Cute swing but we need to redo the porch ceiling first (builder ran the beadboard the long way and we have gaps, we have to locate joists and maybe add some lighting while we're at it).

I'm a rambler too but have to watch it - our Internet connection is flaky since they "upgraded" it yesterday, keeps dropping packets. Don't know when I can get on and for how long. No word on chairs - bet they sold and forgot to take the ad off.

I just saw a CL ad for a 6-piece set for $150 (no pictures but said they'd email tonight). Don't know if that has cushions and what they look like.

But I was wondering, for cushion(s) for the settee I bought, and maybe for the wooden rockers, what about this? Country Curtains doesn't have any more of the fabric, but they *do* have panels of this indoor/outdoor fabric on clearance - think the stripe, maybe with the leaf pattern for a few throw pillows?
