Thank you all for your many suggestions of type of info available and where to look. Would any of you be willing to speculate what might be going on in the following situation: A major developer bought a parcel of land for a major development (several hundred single family homes, some multi family units and rec facilities.) A gravel road to the parcel had a couple homes on it The developer is currently putting in the roads for the development and has paved the gravel road. This road will be the entrance to the development. The developer has recently bought (for about 150,000) and torn down one of the existing houses. The other existing house has been on the market for over a year (listed for 160,000 for a year reduced to 130,000 a few months ago). In speaking to the listing agent he said the developer had made a verbal offer in the past but never followed through on a written offer. I do not understand given they bought and tore down the house across the street for close to the original listing price of this house why they aren't buying this house. Any ideas why the developer is not buying this house or of a way to find out?

Vee, thanks for the link to the woman speaking Welsh. Mary, I listened to the woman in the video and detected the back-of-the-throat gutturals similar to the German (e.g. the /ch/ of Bach) and Scottish (e.g. /ch/ of loch). Those sounds are probably difficult for English speakers over the age of about fifteen to produce. Those under fifteen, unless they have a speech disability, shouldn't have many/any problems. I didn't notice much 'R' rolling from this particular speaker, a feature of pronunciation (such as in Scottish and Spanish) that many (adult) English speakers can't reproduce and have a tendency to disparage because of it. Many Americans, interestingly to me, don't have problems 'rolling Rs' but, of course, some Americans can barely pronounce 'R' at all. The double letters and the sounds they represent are interesting. English speakers, of course, wind up in most cases just pronouncing them as single sounds, such as giving the Ll of Welsh the sound of English L. The Welsh start with the tongue in the position to say L but barely get the sound initiated when they switch to the guttural sound of /ch/ (as in loch). Now that's a feat! It's the perfect shibboleth for the Welsh, isn't it, Vee? Instead of persisting in saying 'Welsh', I should be referring to the language as 'Cymraeg'. From the etymology of the word 'Welsh', it's a wonder the people of Cymru put up with the unflattering derivation.

Kay, I have had a few sessions of the ultrasound therapy and so far there is no improvement. But of course, I messed up my entire shoulder and there is still a lot of inflammation from the collarbone surgery. I know that I am early in the process of healing at 9 weeks and the added trauma of the rotator cuff tear is a lot to recover from. I guess I'm just surprised that even with doing my PT exercises diligently I still have so much pain. Did your tear feel like it was burning? Sometimes I swear someone has lit a match inside my shoulder. I still can't touch my shoulder in the spot that I fell on because the skin is still so tender. There is this weird numb patch that runs from my collarbone across the top of my shoulder and down the front of my arm. I am told I may never get sensation back because the nerves were cut during the surgery. I almost wish that numbness would go deeper! The other thing is that my shoulder hurts even when not using it. It hurts when I'm completely still. Do you recall if yours hurt only with certain motions or did it hurt pretty much on a constant basis?
