I don't crumble my cracker into my soup, but I'll shake the crumbs from a tube in which it came into the soup.

I sometimes have bread and milk in a bowl sort of like processed cereal, but don't drop pieces, or crumby cracker, into my glass of milk.

I can just see myself, in my mind's eye, dragging the residual pieces out of the bottom of the glass with a spoon (knife? fork?).

Or should I hold my glass to my mouth, with its bottom pointing to the sky? Would I need to tap the bottom with the handle of my knife, to encourage the pieces clinging to the bottom of the glass to slide/drop into my mouth?

The problems that crop up, related to the simple task of eating, for heaven's sake!

No I am with you on all points. I rarely eat crackers with my soup. I would rather have a nice piece of crusty French bread or rye bread and butter with my soup. I have floated oyster crackers on chowder but I have to eat them quickly before they get soggy.

I don't drink milk with anything. I either have iced tea,diet Pepsi or water with all meals be it breakfast lunch or dinner.

I love cornbread both plain or sweet and gritty or cakelike. I don't want it "wet" with anything. A bit of butter, sometimes honey and I'm good.

No crumbling for me either! A crunchy Italian roll or crispy slice of French bread, works for me. The only thing I want in a glass of milk is ice. Cornbread? Yuk.

Oh, yes I forgot another cracker crumbling event....restaurant patron, squishing crackers in little packages and then using them as a topping on his salad after the dressing! Double YUCK!

I prefer croutons in my soup. Only soup I ever put crackers in is tomato--and (just call me OCD) then I carefully break the cracker into quarters, drop into the soup, and eat quickly before they get soggy. Repeat--LOL.

You don't even want to know about how I eat cereal!

But back to crackers--I eat my soups how I like them, and it doesn't bother me a bit if others eat theirs the way THEY like them. I'm big on manners, but that cracker-crumbling rule is just silly. There's nothing rude/wrong with crumbling crackers into one's soup if that's how you enjoy eating it. I'd rather see that, than see someone slurping their soup, for instance.

Crumbled crackers on a salad make the best salad I've ever tasted.

And I have never heard of NOT crumbling crackers....I went to school in the 60's also.

I love a buttered cracker floating in my tomato soup, then cut into quarters with my soup spoon. I've often wondered where that idea of not crumbling the crackers came from...it seems like such a silly rule, when you think about it!

Actually, I prefer crunchy foods so soggy crackers don't to it for me. DH loves to take my crackers in a diner and crumble them into his soup...especially split pea (even with croutons!)

The only thing I crumble crackers into is chili. I will crumble a lot into it so that it is really thick. I never crumble crackers or anything else into soups.

I used to eat cornbread and milk. Cornbread or crackers on chili or soup. Back when I ate lots of carbs...the good old days.

I still do but try to limit.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Lately if I want something else in my soup, I break up Wasa crispbreads in it. To each his own.

I HAVE to have crumbled crackers in my tomato soup....and really like a grilled Velveeta with it (from childhood). Don't like anything in my homemade chicken noodle/dumpling soup. We crumble cheesy Doritos in our chili...don't knock it until you try it! (DH started it...I thought it was gross, until I had it too! Mmm)

I confess I do crumble, but only on certain things.

Chicken Noodle Soup gets cracker crumbles when I'm sick. But, never in my Homemade Chicken and Dumplings.

Crumbled Cornbread on Chilli and Beans. Sometimes Fritos.

With Tomato Soup I dip Toast.

French Onion Soup with a whole piece of Toast and a slice of cheese on top.

I don't usually crumble, but on the occasion when I do I only crumble one cracker and have to eat it right away before it gets soggy. I like a cold glass of milk to drink with my soup too. No crumbling anything into my milk though, yuck.

I didn't know crumbling was wrong. I love crumbled crackers on soup and chili. It's ok if they get soggy too. I'm not picky.

I'm another one-at-a-time crumbler. I like them alittle soggy/crispy. Love cornbread buttered then crumbled in bean soup. I like saltines with buttermilk, too, but haven't had it in a while. Today's a good day for soup--only 48 degrees outside at noon. Brrr!

I prefer oyster crackers in my soup so you don't have to crumble. I only put crackers in tomato soup and chowders. I love French Onion soup with crusty French bread and melted cheese on top.

Yesssss, I crumble a few crackers at a time, in my chili. I like them crunchy, not soggy. And in my tomato soup too. Don't do anything in my milk though. Unless it's a cookie. But I hate crumbs in my milk. So I never drink the bottom of the glass.

I dip and scoop, don't crumble most of the time. Saltines and homemade chicken noodle soup is the best!

I admit I'm a crumbler. Ritz crackers in Tomato Soup, and saltines in Chicken Noodle.

I am a crumbler, but there are occasions where I do not crumble.When I eat potato soup I like to eat it with wedges of cheese bread. I take a small hoagie loaf and cut it into 8 wedges. I butter it and broil it for a memont to lightly brown it, then I put grated cheese on it and stick it back in the broiler til bubbly.

With chili I will eat crumbled crackers, but prefer regular Fritos on top.

Corn bread is what I prefer when eating vegetable soup. This is making me hungry.

This is such an interesting subject! I just thought about it...latest Campbell soup commerical shows Gold Fish crackers floating in their soup and children dunking beautiful, mouthwatering grilled cheese sandwiches in their tomato soup! Gosh, I'm so hungry....had peanut butter crackers for breakfast....and now I'm having to endure the smell of pintos cooking slowly in my crockpot...cornbead baking and banana pudding to be made!
come on by for dinner, I have to be at work at six, so we'll be eating early!
