Paint color to complement Giallo Napoleon granite
Comments (2)Hi ksue53, welcome to GardenWeb. You will get more responses if you post this on the Home Decorating forum - along with photos if you can take some. You might also try doing a search of GardenWeb with the words Giallo Napoleon. Likely someone in the Kitchens forum or elsewhere has it and may have talked about it....See MoreSanta Cecelia vs. Giallo Ornamental Granite
Comments (3)I went through the same thing. I have medium cherry cabinets with a creamy white island. Of the three SC looked different everytime I saw it even at the same granite yard which confused me more! GO was the most consistant from slab to slab and I think NVG had the most color of the two. I don't think you can go wrong with either NVG or GO. I ended up going with Giallo Napoleon in my kitchen and GO in my powder room but it is a cherry cabinet. please excuse mess still under construction....See MoreGranite colors to complement Gray Pink Fireplace
Comments (22)I mistakenly posted this to the wrong person... can you believe that! I went through the entire answer, submitted, and then the OP wrote back that I must have been confused. So, I went back, copied, and am pasting it in to whom I meant it to be for! I feel so STUPID! boxer kills me with all those fabulous pics. I try and post/research but get so sidetracked staring at and following all the pics/links. I'm just not feeling the dark granite for your space. From your pics it seems almost like a Mid Century kind of home... BEAUTIFUL! I think your stonework on your fireplace is just gorgeous. I would not paint it. However, with all the angular lines of the walls/ceilings/stonework; I'm somewhat bothered by the wood walls. I love wood, covet your wood floors; but I do think your home would be so much more "refreshed" without the wood walls. I also think it would make the fireplace really POP. I'd either take the wood off and skim coat/paint, or I know I've seen episodes on some home remodeling show where they used some product to fill in the cracks and then skim coated/painted, OR... last resort... pull the wood off and re-sheetrock and paint. I'd love a soft gray color against that stone.... a warm light gray. ANyway... to countertops. Are you kitchen floors the same wood? Sorry if I missed that somewhere. I think I'd choose a light almost white gr anite for the kitchen. Your cabs are going to be a beautiful rich color. If the floors are also wood, I'd love the soft look of a whiteish granite. HOw about something like Andromeda White? Alku05 has it in her gorgeous kitchen. I hope it's OK I'm embedding her pic: A closeup from Granitestock's site: Another one could be Kashmir White. It has a little bit of brown in it: One more...GraniteStock calls it Wine River. I don't know what else it goes by but it's a white with movement: Let me know likes/dislikes and we can go from there. Comments (17)Hi Nursetammi, I went to check out some granite slabs on Friday and decided on the New Venetian Gold. I loved the slabs. It has lots of garnet specks in it which looks good with my cabinets. It also has black in it to tie in with the black island I'm going to get made. It was very confusing because they didn't have Giallo Napoleon and the New Venetian Gold sample that I received from another granite place looked nothing like the New Venetian Gold that I picked out. I would have thought maybe it could have passed for Santa Cecilia, but they had that color there and it wasn't the same as the sample that I received either. I'm glad I wasn't set on one color. Lesson learned is that the color you pick might not be the color you think it is at the warehouse. The guy at the warehouse showed me some other New Venetian Gold slabs that were from a different lot than the one that I picked and it looked way different. It wasn't as gold and it had more grey. Anyway, I'm probably about a month away from getting my granite because the kitchen island is currently being made. I will post pictures when I'm done. Please post pictures of your project when you are done -- I'd love to see it. Good luck!...See Moreclumsycook
