I don't really know them. I live on the other side of the tracks. :+) I called them once when my mail lady accidently put their mail in my box but now I can't even remember their name. We all have at least 2 acre parcels and their driveway is gated. Well, mine is gated too, but my gate is a metal farm gate. Theirs is custom iron with automatic openers. I have to get out of my car twice when I leave. Once to open the gate and another to close it. :+" They moved here to raise their children. Now the kids are grown and they want to move back to LA. I found that out at their last yard sale. If they have another one, I will ask them about their table. It is on the internet, after all. Interesting. I am surprised so many like the last one I posted. it is from Domain Home, I did love them before they went OB. It does say best offer. hollykay - I agree with function over form while the kids are young :) That is why I was leaning towards benches. WHen the cousins or friends are over we are able to squeeze in more kids when we had that green sofa in the kitchen. Chair pads are a good idea. Arcy - that is really good feedback thank you. I think you are right and those chairs do not go originally with that table. I do love that table and they will sell it separately. I wonder how hard it would be to find chairs to match. Given how long I have been looking for things that might not be practical for me and maybe I should just put it out of my mind. thank you for weighing in blfenton You know tomotofreak - I do agree overall. I like the idea of trestle tables because you can put a bench or sofa up to it more easily too. I am really having a hard time finding a small table I like though that isnt too flimsy if that makes sense. I do like that some of these can be extended as well. I do have more room in the kitchen if it was a party, but day to day in the summer we go to the pool through those doors and while my youngest is still in diapers we use the odd extra island thing that is between the eat in area of the kitchen and the family room as a changing station. It has been that way for over 5 years. The MCM one that you liked Pal says it is American of Martinsville. I have never heard of that. it was discounted on Ebay yesterday but did not sell. I wonder if they would recane the chairs as well as reupholster. I do think I would like a bright print. Would that look ridiculous? Here's what I did. In the spring when JoAnn Fabric's was having a sale I bought a metal window box on legs. It's free standing. In the box part I put rolled towels and hand cloths.On the bottom I cut a piece of thin wood and painted it to match the legs. The bottom has metal bars which help keep the legs from bending so with a little work I was able to cut the wood a little larger than the support system thus making a shelf on the bottom. On that shelf I put a couple of baskets with bath supplies in it. I'm even thinking of taking the wood out and replacing it with glass BUT it's so low on my to do list it will be summer before I get that far. IF all you want is the table space think of using a piece of wood with some decorative supports. Add some moulding around the edges and you are good to go.
