Bottom sink grids for Stainless Steel sinks - do you have one?
Comments (4)I don't have a ss sink-mine's silgranit. However, I now believe that no matter what material your sink is made of, you can't go wrong with a sink grid!!! Not only does it protect the bottom of your sink but it looks nice too. It's easy to keep clean-I just wipe it down every night when I wipe down my sink. Or I just fill the sink up with a few inches of soapy water and use a little brush to clean in between the squares like ccoombs 1 said....See MoreSink grid for Vigo stainless apron front sink

Comments (11)I have a large single bowl ss sink with a grid, and no disposal. I keep a little mesh screen over the drain to catch crud (so much easier than the typical drain plug.) I like (1) draining pasta without water backing up into the colander. (2) washing or filling pots without blocking the drain hole. (3) it raises the effective floor of the sink a bit for my back. (4) you can use it to drain washed dishes directly in the sink and (5) it is a more level surface than the canted surface of the sink. I wish it fit in my dishwasher because it does need to be scrubbed regularly or it will get gross. The little rubber feet create teeny cups that are always full of water....See MoreDo I need stainless with stainless?
Comments (3)I don't think that the sink needs to match the appliances. For example, people with black appliances, don't usually get black sinks... What needs to be considered is the following: a cast iron sink is quieter with water running in it, and with an attached disposal. A stainless sink is a bit more "resilient" and will not cause a glass or dish dropped in it to break as easily. A stainless sink will scratch if you are not careful, a cast iron sink may chip (although not as easily as enameled steel). So, you need to weigh the pro's and cons of each and use that as part of the decision making process....See More- 11 years ago
