If I'm following your question, you want to put something better looking under the higher cabinet on the left wall, which will be over the sink. Is that right? The answer depends on price. You could do a light up faux window but that might cost more than you want for what looks like it might be a secondary kitchen. really not seeing anything might be hard because the bottom of the cabinet is at or above eye level...so how about going with something decorative? A flat fixture of the kind that goes in showers, for instance (since you'll want splash proof). Or a couple of puck lights? (Two or more are better than one to cut down on shadows. Or a light bar that's meant to be seen, on the wall under the cabinet? Also look around some more. There are those fixtures that are just a little tube. And LED's. Maybe there's something that'll show a lot less behind the rail. Good luck.

The difference between the 2700k and the 3000k is minimal in the grand scheme of things.....both are much warmer than the 4-5000K that is white. The up lighting above the cabinets you will notice between the 2700 and 3000 as they typically are placed at the front edge of the cabinets if doing LED strip lighting and shine directly up just giving the ambience of uplighting and if you are going to put any Decor on the top of your cabinets (some like it, others hate it), the lighting at the front will help accent it. If you are concerned about it, go with the 2700K that is similar to your LED bulbs in your cans.

You already have a lot going on with different colors - white, blue and wood. I just looked at that pendant today and it comes in other sizes. For some continuity you could order the larger version to go over the table. I didn't see the pendant in person, but the lady at the lighting store warned me that the black area is a weathered charcoal look and not a perfect black surface.

Thank you! yes we removed the cabinets the first few days we were in - made a huge difference! The plan is to clean that up a bit for sure. Given who we are, however, that may take a while :) I’ll give the white some more consideration - just really don’t want to paint it more times than necessary.
