Please show me your prep sink faucet placement

I have just finished reading the very insightful thread on placing a faucet and accessories at a main sink. My problem is the prep sink. This sink will be on a island, off-center to the right. It is 16"W x 19-3/4" front to back. My first inclination is to place the faucet (Rohl country pullout with short hand spray, 7-1/4" high, 7-1/8" faucet reach) at the right corner at an angle and to place the soap dispenser on the left corner symmetrical to the faucet. I have no idea where to put the air switch. I think it would look odd in the center but if I placed it closer to the faucet I think it would be awkward to use.

There will be seating on the opposite side of the island and the island will only be 42" wide (maybe a bit wider if it doesn't cost too much to put a slight radius on our countertop) and I would put the faucet in the middle except this seems like it would be too close to someone seated there. Also, in the center it seems like it would be too close to a soap dispenser placed next to it.

If you could post pictures of what you did I would really appreciate it. Also, if you could explain your thinking and how it all works out in actual use I would appreciate your thinking.

Eyegolf, the title of the post is "where is your faucet." I don't know how to post the link but try that our just try "kitchen faucet" in the search.

Thanks for all of the pictures. I'm trying to select faucets for 2 farm sinks. I'm struggling with the main soapstone sink 30 x 19 x 10. House is reproduction 1700s cape, Kennebec cabinets in concord ivory, sopastone counters. Thinking bridge for traditional look but like clean lines of single hole/handle. Opinion on Waterstone Towson 4100 with articulating spout...thinking I might not require side spray with the reach of this faucet. Otherwise I am torn between various Rohl faucets and Waterstone. Also was going to go ORB or antique look but thinking I like the chrome/silver with the sopastone. Yikes...help!!! Here is a link that might be useful: SS slant front scooped top sink

You could look through the FKB category sink/Rohl to see faucet placement. I think it's a matter of personal preference. I asked about mine a few weeks ago, but didn't get any responses. I have a 36" Shaw's and, FWIW, my main faucet will be in the center, sprayer to the right, then the water filter faucet in the right corner. Left of the main will be the air gap and soap dispenser further to the left. (Unless my plumber changes it for some reason).

I just purchased the corstone edgewood self rimming sink, has a really nice drainboard and is deep. I think its very practical if you scrub or spray and wash so you do not have to make the counter top all wet, water just drains off the drainboard nicely. It also looks very nice and expensive. I really liked the kohler glen falls laundry sink, but it was around $500+, so I picked this one up at wayfair for $160! It looks a lot like cast iron imho!

Thank you both so much!! Those faucets look great - and probably confirm my suspicion... that all my stress about this is unnecessary... pps7 - what is your faucet? Also, do you have the same faucet on your prep sink? I'll have a 15x15 prep sink a similar distance away from the main sink and wasn't sure if I should go with the same faucet or a smaller version. circuspeanut - do you have a prep sink? If so, what did you do for your prep faucet? Also, are the little buttons next to your faucet airswitches for your disposal? I hadn't heard of these until recently and I'll have three windows in front of our sink so they may be a good option for us. What do you think of them? Any problems? Thanks!!

Mine, no airswitch though.

B/c our sink is on a peninsula, we opted for the 5-sided so the faucet would be further away from people sitting at the peninsula and thus reduce the splashing factor. It worked...we do not have splashing issues on our peninsula.

While we do not have an airswitch right now (no GD at prep sink), we hope to put one in w/a GD in a couple of years. Where will we place it? Not sure, but I'm leaning toward putting it to the right of the soap dispenser.

I have a 15" wide prep sink with that same faucet slightly off-center to the right, and a filtered water dispenser symmetrically off-center to the left, so a picture of my set-up won't really help you. But, with your situation, I would put the faucet in the middle, the soap dispenser on the left and the air switch on the right. I don't think that they will be too close together.

We don't have a soap dispenser at our prep sink, but it could have gone where the airswitch is, and the airswitch by the faucet (like we did at the main sink)

Thank you, all. This prep sink is going to really be my main sink unless I have a houseful of people. Since I'm the Lady MacBeth of handwashing when I'm prepping I really need to get this feature right. Do any of you with island seating and sinks opposite feel that the faucet would be too close to someone on the other side of the island? Our island will be 42" wide so I'm assuming 18" of counter will be between the faucet and the person seated there. Does this sound right and is it enough room for the person not to feel cramped or that they're looking at an eyesore (although I do think it is an attractive faucet)?

Here's mine. I had to set the faucet off to one side for two reasons. One, the sink was larger than I expected and there wasn't much room right in the middle. Also, I wanted an overhang to towards the sink on that bar, further reducing my space. It bugged me at first to have it off center, but now I like it. I can set large stock pots on the counter right next to the sink and fill them!
