I think it's a pretty house. The chandeliers in the garage is a little much. I think for the most part the ID does a great job. I'm not so sure that show is always legitimate.

I can't afford to win the Dream Home. :) The taxes have to be paid before you can take possession. I haven't been crazy about the last few dream homes locations anyway. I'd rather have a smaller cottage on a beach somewhere warm.

They give you 500,000 cash w/ the house.... to pay the taxes. If that isn't enough, you can opt for a cash prize instead (less "value" than the house... but still over a million.) I can afford to win it!!

Don't really care for it ... or the majority of the light fixtures. The drum pendants and industrial ones are bad enough, but chandeliers in the garage? Totally ridiculous.

For the most part I love the house and the surrounding property. I would sell though and use the money to build my dream retirement home in a place closer to family!

The house is nowhere near Park City! It is closer to Midway, which is not exactly "convenient" for skiing or anything else. That said, I would love to win it and use it as a base for Sundance every year and invite whomever we wish to come out and enjoy it with us :)

My sister was in Park City recently so she made a point to go check out the house. She said it's in a terrible location, no where near Park City, in an empty subdivision with a traffic circle right in front of the house.

A few years ago they did a green build and called the location Hilton Head. I have a condo in Hilton Head. The dream home was at least 30 minutes before getting to the bridge to the island. I did want to go out to tour it, I think the entrance fee went to charity, but it didn't work into my schedule for that trip.

My much smaller condo might not be a grand but my location is better.

It's ugly! nice view nothing but weeds! house is only a bunch of little rooms.. may as well be a re-done barn..

A bunch of little rooms? If you watch the video, the kitchen is open to that stone/living room. There's a second living area, a large laundry room, two decent size suites, and a third master suite that is also a decent size. Key here was privacy for all bedrooms, which you might expect in a vacation home.

It may not be your style, but it is far from an ugly house. I thought it was quite casual, but lovely house, in fact.

hhireno, that's it---the ONE thing you cannot change about a house is its location. You'd think the folk at HGTV would know that. But OTOH, the way that area is booming, the location might become much better in about five years.

I'd take it for the cash prize. Don't like the location.

Don't know much about the location, or the amount of surrounding land that's included -- that would matter with that house -- But I do really like the style.

That is the prettiest Dream Home I've seen since the first one HGTV did. Not a huge fan of the lighting but that can be easily changed. Love the leather sectional in the smaller family room and the spaciousness of the great room. Nice warm color scheme. I vote yes :)

I really like it ; it seems to have a bit more broad appeal than the last few years' dream homes ( which I personally loved because of the contemporary art) .

I don't see why they wouldn't build the dream home in a location that is already established and more easily liveable, surrounded by other homes.

Location, location, location = expensive, expensive, expensive. :)

Build in a new development, get a good deal on the lot from the developer, and the developer gets free advertising, and a lot of traffic going to see the house.

I'm very surprised they did not do a bunk room in this house, which is a "must have" in a spacious vacation home in this area of the country.

That changing room, bathroom, family room complex could easily be converted into either a first floor master or a bunk room. The house layout is very versatile, but I wonder about that large, inaccessible area behind the master bedroom. Did they run out of money?

I think the exterior is awful but I really like the outdoor living room. The whole concept of a vacation home in a development just blows my mind. Perhaps that's because I come from a family that vacationed at a camp on a lake in the Adirondacks that was built by my grandfather. Or perhaps it's because I don't want to live in suburbia.

I like it for the most part. If I won, I would probably take the cash, though.
