took a look at the stable kichen in HB - he did two sinks, one german silver, one waxed soapstone, both integrated with same material countertops. Fixtures are in the "silver" metal families. I ordered a regualar sink base, 21'', though I could go back and change that possibly. going wider would mean getting an 18'' DW, which is why I did the narrower sink base, with the idea of getting a prep sink. Never been particularly attracted to farmhouse sinks, never actually seen one on a farm :-) but maybe I am too literal. would definitely have to change the base size to accomodate one. and unfortunately, never really liked copper and the colors it patinizes to, and having trouble visualizing it with the polished brass fixtures. so open to lots of things but also just don't like some things, if that is not too contradictory. thanks for jumping in and helping!

Thanks for all the help, suggestions, and things to think about. And pictures! It sounds like I could probably do any of the colors and they would work. I guess I do need to think about wanting the sink to stand out or not. Probably not. Why draw attention to the dirty dishes sitting in it?! (= The truffle does look like a perfect match, and your CC and biscotti is beautiful. I'll guess I'll have to wait until I can see more items together, or until my designer can because some decisions will have to be made without me. But not without my input! The metallic gray might be great, or maybe not given my floor will be silver. The brown I'm afraid may be too dark. I'm not really doing much black so probably not that even though I love black. I guess I'm back to the lighter choices. And was I not thinking darker when I started this thread? Now you understand why I'm driving my poor designer crazy. :)

Agree that a picture or description of your other kitchen elements would help. I have always had a double sink but DD talked me into getting a super single. I have the Blanco black and it doesn't show water spots. At the end of each day I take a microfiber cloth or sponge to dry the sink. Every now and then I add a little mineral oil to make it shine. This sink is one of my most favorite things about the kitchen. Would never go back to double bowl sink of any size. Wanted black to go with my granite, etc. and didn't like the shiny black porcelain sink from Kohler. Didn't want stainless as I can't live with the scratches that will appear no matter how careful you are. The silgranit was an unknown but it's a treasure. LOVE IT!!! Whatever you decide, I strongly recommend getting a stainless sink grid. Another great decision from knowledge gained on this forum.

Blanco has an interactive tool-you can try and play there a bit with different types of countertops, and sinks' colors. http://www.blanco-germany.com/en_us/en_us/sinks/how_to_choose_the_right_sink/interactive_countertop_tool/Tool.html I like the idea of brighter contrast; or any contrast for that matter; but with a white sink, I'd be a bit anxious about upkeep, possible staining, etc. I know they say it's really easy to clean, and the sink itself doesn't stain easily. But since I haven't lived with it myself..yet..:) I thought a biscuit might work but I looked up all your materials-it's probably too warm for your color scheme? What do you think? In short..if you can get positive reviews about the maintenance of the white one-I am probably inclined to vote white.
