your will lately?

I just pulled ours out, because plowing through mom's stuff left me with a few questions.

We definitely need to redo ours. They were written in '85, when dd was a toddler. So many things have changed since then. DH will be off the last week of Feb. and all of March, so guess I'll make an appt. for then.

And--embarrassing as this is to admit, I haven't gotten around to making a Living Will. So guess we'll get all that done at the same time. Only Living Will I've ever seen that I like the looks of is the one my lawyer uses, so I'll have that done at the same time.

How often to the rest of you check/redo your wills? If you haven't read it lately, maybe it's time to check it over.

I've got to re-do mine. I haven't done it since DH died. That was in 1999. I'm slow. I keep forgetting to do it.

Buehl, please do! I was just trying to save something of use. I'd been checking the GW all night, turned my back for 15 minutes to watch the Health Care vote, and whammo! all the posts were gone. I kept refreshing, thinking, "This can't be!"

we're terible and have put it off forever...

i got scared last year before surgery and wrote a handwritten one and only told my cyber pal where it was...of course i got tons of flack for it when the family found out...lol...

DH & I are in our 70's and had both our wills and living wills done abt a year or so ago. Our DD & her hubby were going to Hawaii a few years ago and it would be the first time she was in a plane. She was so scared, she had their wills made, and provisions for their oldest daughter who is handicapped and will always need care. Actually I was proud of DD to think of these things as we, her parents wouldn't be able to take over Shannons care. I know it is hard for some people to think of "the end" but it does come to all of us eventually, and it is the people left behind we should be thinking of. Dottie

Good for all of you keeping up with this stuff, even though it can be difficult to do. It really is a wonderful gift to your heirs. Saves them money and a whole lot of trouble.

We're waiting on the attorney to finish the first draft of our papers. He's on my list to call this week for an update.

I just reread ours last week to make sure everything is as it should be.....and it is.

OUrs is about 20 yrs old and probably should be redone, but it is a very simple will anyway. We don't have living wills, either, but should get that done.

I think I threw mine out after the divorce, so I probably need a new one.

My DH and I did a revocable (sp) trust last year. Took us forever. He is retiring this year and when he went to seminars they said you can not be with out one. It includes medical and property power of attoneys, who we want to have what how money is to be divided and who is in charge. Our kids can just grab it and know what we want done when the time comes.

It can be changed and added to at anytime
