Air Filters for New HVAC System...

After doing much research here and on other forums, I replaced my old heat pump/air exchanger/thermo with a new Carrier system. It works GREAT!

The company that did the install (Baltimore Gas and Electric - BGE) recommends that I use an inexpensive, disposable air filter that needs to be replaced every month. They left me with an extra filter, which is an American Filter "Heavy Duty" fiberglass panel filter - the type with a cardboard frame. Interestingly, the only inexpensive filter available at Lowes or Home Depot is an even lighter duty filter that comes 3 in a pack from Flanders Filters. BGE says that they've never seen the type of filter locally available, and I've tried to contact American Air filter to buy the exact filters that I started with. Haven't heard back yet.

Question is, do any of you folks buy these inexpensive panel filters and if so, where do you get them?

Thanks!
