gas valve failure

I have a New Yorker CGA gas boiler. This AM no heat.I checked the pilot light and it was out.I replaced the thermocouple and was able to relight the pilot, over rode the thermostat but the main burners didn`t come on.The Taco circulator, aquastat and the damper powered on, still main burner did not light.I next replaced the roll out switch, main burner, you guess it failed to light.I think the gas valve may be the culprit, but before I replace him is there a simple test to prove my hypothesis and can the old gas valve be re-conditioned?
