What color should I paint my bathroom

I live in an old house in France. We gutted the bathroom and added a clawfoot tub and sink. We will put an old armoire by the sink. There will be a large antique chandelier by the tub (non electrified)

What color should we paint it.

(as I do not know how to add photos to the forum I have added a link to my bathroom below.

What about a silvery blue for the bathroom. Dlm2000 painted her son's room in BM Wedgwood Gray which is really pretty. I'll link to a post where you can see her room and several other blues.

I'm in the mood for pink these days.

What about a grayed down pink...a Farrow & Ball kind of pink? Like Setting Plaster or Calamine. They have stockists all over France. Don't even bother with the colors on the computer....they're nasty and untrue! Get thee to a store and look at the actual color cards if you haven't already.

They have the best grays in the biz, btw! ;-)

What does the rest of your bathroom look like? I’d do some nice wallpaper, and the rest just like you said. I’m no designer though. Depending on how far down the renovation road you want to go, perhaps consider replacing the floor tile to something more era appropriate? I think alot of bathrooms from this era had chrome (or something like it) hardware...but if you have original hardware that is brass, continue with that. I would think that the latches on the top cupboards will be an indication once you’ve got the paint off, whether the knobs etc should be brass or chrome(?) I’m not even sure whether you have to put the baking soda in...I’ve done it with and without and it’s worked both ways.

Almost any color you like but keep in mind you are not doing this for you. I have no idea why you like a dark bathroom since IMO this and a kitchen need the best light possible

SW Dovetail might be one to consider. SW Agreeable Gray … very versatile color. SW Dorian is interesting: A pretty green: A vibrant green: If you’re wanting more saturated and/or dramatic, there are lots of blues and purples that could work. Several greiges, too, if you’re wanting warmer than all gray. It’s hard to know for sure without seeing your other rooms, and what you’re going for. I’d just do lots of searches, like ’Sherwin Williams bathroom colors’, etc, to get some ideas. And of course do test swatches.

RL "Cameo Pink" (VM41)

A old blush pink .... that would warm the room -- and be gorgeous with so many metals and colors and textures .....

I would go with a soft purple that definitely has some gray in it like SW Veiled Violet. Gorgeous room.

Instead of taking a chance with a color you are not sure about, do not try and make a decision using tiny paint chip samples. Choose a high-quality brand that offers small bottles of color to sample, or invest in a single quart of a chosen paint color.Paint a piece of poster board instead of the wall, and after the paint has dried, place the extra-large sample on the wall in many different positions. Place the color next to flooring, next to window treatments, and next to master bedroom furnishings, and stand back to get a more realistic idea of how it will look on walls

I think your bathroom would be perfectly gorgeous in shades of gray...take a look at the photos of this apartment in Manhattan from House Beautiful a month or two ago. I like rich color in bathrooms, myself...somehow it increases my sense of luxury, and of being safely enclosed and cushioned, while I'm taking care of myself.

FD, your bathroom is exquisite. I love the chandelier. I love everything....but that chandelier is my inspiration piece. Did you find it in Paris?

That is just beautiful! I think the tapestry should stay. I love the blue chair and the shelves lined in toile. I may have to *borrow* the shelf/toile idea.
