Westminster is a two-day show, and only half the breed groups will be on display each day. SO if you are very interested in watching Poodles, for example, know that they will only be there one day.

On the attached link, look for show information, then the menu (top left) that says 2014 dog show, and click on "Judging Program" to see when each breed will show.

Most people watch their favorite breeds being judged and then spend the rest of time visiting the dogs on the benches where they will be all that day. There will be a lot of walking around.

Have been to many dogs shows and even exhibited at benched shows here, but never Westminster. I'd love to go!

Satine, I don't know what the continuity of the events mights be, how much time between. You'd think as many as they have held it would be well thought out, both for the animals, and the audience/owners but I've never been there.

Seating in Madison Square Gardens appears to be the theater type, I can't tell from photos if all levels have the same amount of padding. Stationary arms/legs, foldup up seats for entering and exiting that row. Not bleachers, I find those an instant backache myself :)

We have long been Golden Retriever owners, trainers, exhibitors, breeders. We have had a number of AKC champions, obedience titles, tracking and hunting titles, and a number of produced pups gone into service work, too.

Sushi says hi, she never gets expensive fish but she stole two bananas off the counter today.

Big "Woof" back to Sushi! She has once again proven the lazy dog owner's (my) case for only having dogs who are too short to reach the kitchen counter or the coffee table (with mouth or tail), and who fit easily into the laundry tub.

Our third Westie, Pip, adored the pretty Golden, Honey, who lived next door. When Pip was a puppy, she would carry him around like the pup she never had. Unfortunately, she was also fond of rocks -- and ate them.
