HELP...tenderloin cooking too quickly

My neighbor is having a Sunday School class party at her home tonight. She didn't want to heat up her kitchen cooking the tenderloin, so I volunteered. She gave me her directions. They said cook at 450 for 20 minutes then reduce heat to 300 for 30 minutes, at this point it should be 125 degrees. Then tent for 30 minutes. I did the first 20 part, reduced the heat to 300, and after 10 minutes it was at 125. That is too soon. I have pulled it out of the oven. Any suggestions on what to do so that it will be served warm?

TIA
