I love those nurseries!! I wish this thread had been around 3 years ago :) I would love to share what we did for my daughter's room. This is when it was almost finished.

Christy, that is darling! I love the ants across the window sill -- lol. Did you paint the tree yourself? The room is bright and imaginative. It's a wonderful place and I'll bet your little daughter just loves it.

Thank you, Oceanna :) We traced the trees from a coloring book onto a transparency and used an overhead projector to trace the image onto the wall. It is such a fun room, we all love it!! Just wanted to point out, the room was not finished in the pictures. The plug was covered and the shade strings secured before baby came :) The baby in the pic is my neice, just visiting!! Christy

Oceana, thanks so much for all your work! I am getting ready to paint and decorate the bedroom of my granddaughters. You've given me soooo many wonderful ideas! They are 4 and 1 yr. old. And the room is small so I loved seeing the different bed ideas.

The toddlers room are very inspiring. Actually I pick one of the designs to renovate my daughters room.

This is my son's room. To explain it...

I wanted a 1930's Earnest Hemmingway type safari tent. In African safari tents (of today) they have mixed antiques with modern, typically fur rugs or old asian pieces, the walls and ceiling are "tent (canvas)" and they are held in place with a wood structure at the corners. In my dream tent, if you pull back the tent sides, you would find all of the happy animals of the jungle looking to come play.

Because it's a 3 year old's room...the faces had to be friendly, and some of the animals were his favorite at the time (which is why we have lady bugs, chickens and monkeys all in the same jungle).

So here it is:
From the door you see this side of the room. The bed is Pottery Barn (I gave way to a modern piece so we could have a trundle for any future friends who are healthy enough to stay with the little poop) but the small amoire is an antique from grandma :)

The ceiling is fabric, stapled to the ceiling above and then lowered 7" at the wall side to make it feel more tent like. We don't have spiders here and it's hung tight enough to dust with a vacuum :)

On oceanna's first post, the third to the last room picture (pink, brown girl room). Anyone have a guess as to the paint color. I am looking for a nice brown like that.

Iggy, oh my gosh, girl! That room is beyond fabulous! Did you do all that painting? What is that in the center on the ceiling, that looks like bamboo? The room is a perfect fantasy jungle play land for a little one.

Jlpearce, I have no clue. Did you open two browsers, one to that picture and one to the Browns thread(s) in the gallery? That might give you some ideas. Otherwise, I'd go collect some brown paint cards at the store and bring them home and compare them to what you're seeing in that picture on your monitor.
