Eye cream question

Well I hit the big 48! Now I have noticed puffy eye lids, and dry patches under the eyes. Whats a girl to do?

Anybody have any remedies or creams that they know are good? I don't mind spendy a few bucks if I know it will work.

I'd say save your money. But I'll be watching for something someone else may have found that works.

All the eye creams I've used have been light, and meant to be used all the time, as is facial moisturizer. Remember to apply lightly with your ring finger. For circles under the eyes, the most basic things are to get enough sleep, drink enough water, reduce stress, etc. Cucumber slices and cold tea bags are also rumored to help. I Googled "under eye lightener" and found a bunch of products that claim to do this. If you ever find one that works well, please post it. That book has been around forever. It would be fine if we all had the same skin and reactions but we don't. I find what works for me through trial and error but it may not be what works for someone else. I personally cannot use some product brands. I'm allergic to some that are supposedly hypoallergenic and not to others. Cannot stand certain fragrances. The hylexin was the subject of a TV story just the other night with another product created by a dermatologist that supposedly resurfaces hands on mature skin. If it works on you go with it. If not, return it and tell them you're allergic as many places will refund you in that case. But overall, anything sold o-t-c (drugstore or dept store) will not have the same result as something prescribed by cosmetic dermatologists. And nothing truly removes bags under the eyes execept, well, you know.

Pat. I mostly use Kirks on the boys hair also. One thing I truely HATE is when kids have a stinky head...iI've found that even shampooing 3 times with shampoo kids can still have a stink head. My boys have oily heads so that could be why. Anyway Kirks on their heads and their heads smell so very clean and fresh. I do use a chamomile tea rinse.. I used to use lemon juice, they are both blondies, but I tried the Chamomile and wow it left their hair silky with a natural shine. so every night I brew 2 cups of Chamomile LOL glad I found a cheap brand that's 97cents for 25. I think though I'll try one tea bag and just let it steep an hour or so than dilute it some and split it in half for each boy. For those of you that don't know Kirks is a lovely coconut castile bar soap that can be used as a shampoo you just have to use a acidic rinse afterwards to restore PH. Kirks has a shampoo but I've never seen it at a store, ive been really really wanting to try it. So if any of you have please report to me if you like it. Thank You.

The only cream that will rebuild collagen is Retin-A. As for dry patches, any cream will add moisture.

After washing skin, lightly pat dry, trap moisture in by applying moisturizer right then...5 mins later is too late.

sunny is correct. Moisture is water. The creams just form a barrier to keep it in.

I say save your money too. A 4 or 5 dollar product will do just as well as the $20 and up ones.

Lotion is lotion. All Retin-A does is irritate the skin into shedding old skin cells faster. Leaves some with that nice shiny recovering from a sunburn look. I'd rather have a few lines.

I have used Clinique 'repairwear' eye cream for about 18 years. I use it in the morning and at night I can not live without it. Nothing makes wrinkles go away but you need to moisturize, it just makes the wrinkles look softer not so deep. I have very sensitive skin and this is the only eye cream that does not bother me, Clinique has two creams the other makes my eyes puff up.

I think the skin around your eyes is more sensitive than the face so you need a cream made for the eyes lots of companies make them.

I have just started using this cream from Kohl's that a girlfriend raved about... it's SMOOTH-365Â
Intensive Clarity + Smoothing Peptide Serum.

I have been using it since Xmas day as my DH bought me some. It makes your skin very silky smooth. I have moisturized my whole life and usually use Nivea Visage. This cream that I mentioned is used under your regular moisturizer. Can't tell you yet if I have noticed any huge difference but I like how smooth my face feels.
