What do you think of these lighting fixtures for our kitchen & di

I'd love to run my lighting choices by you all to see if you think they'd look good/are appropriately sized for our kitchen/dining. Our cabs will be soft white with ORB hardware, floors will be stained medium dark. The kitchen and dining area are totally open to one another.

There are spots for 2 fixtures above the island and one above the sink. We have cans and undercabinet lights as well. Ceilings are 9', island base is 39" x 78", top will measure 41" x 88".

Dining area is almost 20' x 15' and ceiling vaults to 12'. We're planning to have a 9'-10' x 42" farmhouse table

Table similar to what we're looking for

Light for over dining table - Measures about 30" x 30"

For over island - Measure about 20" x 20" each

For over sink

I love this lighting collection especially the small chandeliers for the island, but my only concern is that having 2 of them over the island might crowd things too much or block out the venthood too much. What do you all think?

I like those. I'm thinking that your dining room is so big as is your table--could you do 2 of the larger ones over the table? And one of the larger ones over the island?

I could be way off on the sizes though. I have seen dining rooms with 2 chandeliers.....boxerpups--any photos?

I love your choices.
I think two 20" fixtures over your island will be too much, though. We got two 10" fixtures (totally different style) for our similarly sized island, and I like the proportion.

What an amazing space you have coming together!

Thanks Pal. I really like both the fixtures you posted, but you are correct, the lamp is a bit pricey. I just can't see spending that much on a table lamp. I had been searching for something organic which is why I like the ones from Pier 1 I showed above. I have a hundred dollar gift card for P1. Though I like the ceiling fixture you shared I was hoping to go shorter. The last one I posted is three inches shorter than the one we have now, which I feel hangs too low, and I feel it's a better style for a living area with only eight foot ceilings. I did just come across this one linked below that might work with the ones from Pier 1. It says it's only seven inches high, but that doesn't make sense at all. Elle, I rarely post here, but read often. I too noticed so many very harsh comments without a lot of cost-effective solutions. First, your home is completely decluttered, super clean, sits beautifully on the land, lots and lots of positives! I really like what Terriks did to crop the image to get rid of the driveway being the focal point. I know a certain size fits the mls space, so your realtor can get around it by cropping it, then adding white space above and below to make sure the MLS software doesn't stretch the image disproportionately (a simple photoshop fix. If she/he can't do it, I would be happy to do it for you... email me if you like) As for the kitchen, in trying to think of inexpensive fixes that will help get people in the door, I have one idea. The high chairs in the maple wood really seem to add some warmth while staying within the modern look and without adding any real color. How about adding a runner and a rug under the table that are of woven sisal or jute in that same blonde tone? And perhaps do another very large one under your wicker furniture in the sun room. Cost Plus, Pier One, Ikea... they all have them. Just something to tone down all that strong bright white which is very different than the rest of your home with the warm woods, lovely contemporary rugs and warm-tone carpet. Good luck with the sale. As the warm weather approaches, I'll bet your property just looks beautiful. Ann PS I really dislike when people just add granite countertops without really thinking through the kitchen space. I don't think it helps.

Thanks for all of your input and lovely comments about my space. I do love it and as I mentioned for the first 6-8 months we lived here (it was a new build) I was really disappointed that i was not vocal enough and did not voice my unhappiness with everything not lining up. We were very naive with this build and just kind of trusted our builder who happens to be a close acquaintance (long story- but he is our accountant as well- don't ask!!!:) ) I have learned to live with it and embrace it now as is. Until we re-do our kitchen in about 25- NEVER years we are not going to change that issues.. MEowzer THANK YOU for photoshopping it into my space. It will most likely be a little higher than the current fixture, although not much!! It certainly helps visualize it in the space. WE have considered just having recessed put in, but we have so many recessesed as it is I wanted to add something extra. @ msrose & lynn2006, the granite is Typhoon Bordeaux.I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Sadly it is only on our island as at the time we couldn't fork up another $4000 to do the whole kitchen in it.. Something I regret as well, but live and learn right? Thanks again for your help!! I will continue the search but it is definitely in the running!

Thanks for the input Bee- Our bulbs are somewhat exposed (not purposely, but the electrician put bulbs in that are way too big for the fixtures and we have just been too lazy to re-place ) and it doesn't bother me much, but I totally get what you are saying. Also our chandy is exposed with no shades at the table area. my biggest concern is that the fixtures were never evenly aligned with the chimney hood and never will be unless we moved the island which at this point we can't do (hardwood was put in AFTER the cabinets- much to my chagrin) One of those things we didn't actually catch until after we closed on the new build.. do you think b/c the fixtures have so much oomph (is that the correct sp) it will make it even more obvious??

I really like your lighting choices for the space. Don't know about the island and size though -would def consider what inthehollow mentions.
Looks like it will be a beauty. Congratulations!

I hadn't even considered having 2 in the dining room. I could see where that could look nice. The thing is that the sheetrock and texture is all done with painters starting soon, so I don't know if moving things/adding to is even an option. Well, I'm sure if I squeaked loud enough, but I don't know if it'd be worth the delay and extra cost. Will just one fixture over the dining table look too wimpy? There is a chance that we might go with an 8' table with leaves that could expand when needed but that would be kept at 8' for everyday. Maybe that would work better with just one fixture. Or, there is this other fixture in the same collection that is bigger, but I was afraid it might be too big for a 42" wide table.

It's a 15 light that measures about 36" wide by 38" tall.

I was a little afraid of that about the island lights, but I love them so much and our lighting designer assured us that they would be fine. But, I trust your opinions too and am open to looking for something else. Do you have any suggestions for what might better go there?
