Soap dispenser or no soap dispenser?
Comments (36)Can anyone recommend a dispenser with a LONG spout? The one we have now (Price Pfister) has an utterly useless 2" spout. I have found a 3 7/8" spout, also 3 1/2", but am wondering if there are any that are longer. The new sink is 10" deep. We weren't going to get a new soap dispenser, but after reading this thread, I thought, "I don't want ugly bottles on my new granite!" I could do a rack mounted on the sink cabinet door, but I think the dispenser is neater :-) It just needs a long spout so it can actually squirt dish soap into the pots, instead of dribbling down the side of the sink. Will definitely get a NeverMT--so glad that I heard of it here!...See MoreSoap/Lotion Dispenser Dribbling On Granite Counters
Comments (6)It's a Kohler with a spout of about 3 inches. Would rather it have spout of minimum 4 inches so it can clear the counter sill. I have found I need to use very thin, watery soap or it won't dispense. I found another Kohler listed with a 4 inch spout online, but a bit longer would add some margin. Comments (27)Regarding the NeverMT - some soaps are too thick, so if you dilute them with water, they work fine. Our Kohler SD worked fine for about 7 years. It started becoming an issue about a year ago. I would get one small pump of soap out and then have to wait a few minutes for it to pop up for another pump (no, pulling it up didn't help). I thought it was the dispenser and I even ordered a $20 one to replace it. When I took out the tube for the NeverMT, I discovered soap had congealed/dried up in the tube. I cleaned out the tube, reinstalled it and it works fine! So, now I have a spare one sitting around! It's been over 8 years now and my Kohler SD is still going strong (now that I cleaned out the tubing!) (Shame on me for not checking the tubing b/f I bought another one!) One thing I did decide to change - instead of hand soap in the one at the prep sink, I now use detergent. The main/cleanup sink still has hand soap in the dispenser (my DH's preference). Why? Well, I discovered that I like many of the Bath & Body Works soaps and I wanted to be able to switch them out with the seasons - but I only do it at the prep sink (and bathrooms) - my DH doesn't like "smelly" soaps :-) He cleans up most of the time, so he gets what he wants at the cleanup sink!...See MoreDouble in counter soap dispenser?
Comments (3)If you need another hole drilled maybe you could have your fabricator come back and drill one on site? I’m not a pro or fabricator, so I have no idea how feasible that is. 2 side by side dispensers would be fine (different heights is a good suggestion). We only have one in-counter dispenser. It has hand soap and then we have a decorative olive oil type of bottle for the dish soap. Whatever you decide, don’t forget to buy or make your own Never MT! It’s less wasteful to buy in bulk, and the never MT gizmo means you only have to “refill” every year or so. We’re averaging about 18 months here. https://www.amazon.com/Never-Mt-Soap-Dispenser-Kit/dp/B002FJ9LBS...See Morejoaniepoanie
