Is Anyone Eating this Evening?

I am not. We went out to eat around one this afternoon, all you can eat at Ryan's. $5.49 including drink for Seniors from one until four I think. All was really good. Had a nice salad, some very good broccoli salad, a piece of baked chicken, some roast beef, pork steak, breaded okra, collard greens cooked with pork and a fried chicken wing. For dessert I had a bit of sugar free pudding with a dollop of whipped topping on it and a small sliver of sugar cream pie and 3 cookies (one cookie came home with me). I didn't eat any rolls but did have some glasses of unsweetened iced tea.

So you see no supper for me, how about you?

I have chicken fingers in the oven, and will have green beans and left over cheesy potatoes with them.

Whole plant is edible as a vegetable. Add flowers to salads, or use them as a garnish. Use leaves in salads. Seeds can be chewed, or cooked in breads and biscuits, or steamed, or roasted in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 180C and sprinkled on food like pepper. Leaves and roots can be eaten fresh. The roots are sometimes eaten like olives as an after-dinner treat, or boiled like potatoes. As with most herbs, the health benefits can come with a price tag. Evening Primrose should be used under professional supervision, and should not be used by people suffering from epilepsy. I suggest you research further.

I just realized that when I make my beef broth, I brown the beef shin/knucklebones in oven and then put in cold water, bring to boil, lower to simmer and the result is a gelatin base for the beef broth. Never thought of it...but that's exactly what gives the broth its thickness and rich flavor. I'm not too squeamish but I do remember the first time I bought calf's liver...I took it out of package and couldn't wait to get to the trashcan with it....LOL But I still order liver and onions at restaurants...just don't want to handle/cook it. josh

I've been cooking dinners for us with limited supplies @ our rental house, so we don't have to interupt our renovation work. :0) I made spaghetti & meat balls......didn't have any soda crackers so I crushed cheese nips & added ranch dressing to put in the meatballs....."interesting" combination and NOT recommended. LOL

No hurry to prune anything. When you do, just the crossed branches and damaged ones. You could take that mess of water sprouts coming off the lower main branches. After the tree flowers would be better than now and the tree is still pretty small so the wounds should close quickly. From the pics I'd bet it's a sliver but will need more info to say for certain.

Left over cornbeef, small amount of mashed potatoes mixed with egg and onion and some veggies We are light eaters One cookie for dessert, and glass of milk.

Ate a wrap with ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and cole slaw with mayo. Very good. Got it from my local deli.

Going out late for dinner. I am pooped from undecorating all day and need to nurse my neck, which has been bad for 3 weeks now. Heading back to the ice pack now.

Better late than never, I guess. I didn't eat tonight either. Harry ate a pear. Got up at 5 so we could be ready and get to VA in G-ville by 9. Finally got out of there about 12:30 and stopped on the way home at my favorite restaurant, the Horse and Hound, for a late lunch. It was 2:30 by the time we got home and then I took down the outside decorations and then took a nap. Didn't wake up until after 5.

Lunch was a prime rib sub with lettuce, tomato, french fried onion rings and some kind of good sauce. Served with cole slaw and cold beer! Ahh! The meat was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Very filling.

Have to say that even though I'm not hungry, all your dinners sure sound good.

I hate to admit it but we went to Mickey D's.It's only a block away and we didn't feel like cooking anything.Had a double burger.Gave my fries to a starving dog in the parking lot.

Was wondering where you were off to, today, patti!

I ventured down to the industrial area to Sarri's cause on Monday they have sausage and kraut and love their corn, okra and tomatoes combo

We had stuffed peppers. Tomorrow we're having spare ribs and baked beans. I got everything ready for the beans tonight and I will put the crock on in the morning. It will be nice to come home to after work tomorrow.

I made one of those Wakasabi (spelling) dishes that you add water and micro. It was really good lots of Japanese noodles. DS fixes them for himself a lot a reasonable price oo something like 54 cents a package
