Do you have a Orca sink in a 33' cabinet?

Hi, I am trying to figure out how much I can fit on the counter as well as under the sink given that I purchased the Franke Orca sink and will be putting it in a framelss 33" cabinet? I would like to fit in a Grohe k4 faucet, airswitch, hot water dispenser, soap dispenser, and possibly airgap if local codes requires it. If you have pics that is GREAT!!!

I'm not sure I understand your request. I have the Orca sink in a 33" opening. My sink is in an island that is 26" deep (Normal depth is 24").

I also have the Grohe K4 faucet. I chose to have it installed with the handle facing forward, but that meant that the hot/cold water is opposite of the thin blue/red line on the front of the faucet.

I have two soap dispensers, faucet and air switch....no hot water dispenser or air gap. My air switch is lined up with the soap dispensers.

I am pleased with the location of soap dispensers...someone had cautioned against placing the soap dispenser too far to the left if filled with dish soap to be able to accomodate a pot or bowl placed under it.

I also have an Orca sink in a 33" cabinet. It worked fine with no installation problems. I have the faucet in the same location as Ashlander.

I use the left side for washing. I have 2 grids. The bottom one to protect the sink and one on the right side. It's a great sink for multi tasking. For me the grids made the sink. Try looking in ebay for better pricing on the sink and accessories. That's how I got mine. I also purchased the cutting board and the strainer. Through ebay, I had found a kitchen distributor who was no longer going to be selling the Franke line. I lucked out. That was over a year ago.

Franke1962: Beautiful sink! I am looking for a sink as well. I looked up the specs on Orca, it is pretty deep front to back, over 18", please tell me if you feel like you are too far away from the water faucet. Is it a comfortable reach? One more question: how much granite is there between the edge of the sink and the edge of the overhang? I am trying to figure out if I can reach my water faucet. Also, how far is the faucet from the sink? I just looked at the picture again and the faucet is mounted on the 'smaller' side. Would you still be able to reach it if it were mounted on the larger portion of the bowl? Thanks.

Many of the apron front sinks are handmade, and they will vary in size. Your 33" sink might be 32 3/4" or it might be 33 1/4". It's NOT a matter of a particular installer being knowledgable enough to make a 33" fit in a 33" base, although I wouldn't want someone who didn't understand how to do it to touch it. You can't make a sink that's larger than the base it's intended to fit in fit in that base! Yes, you can shave down 1/8 of the adjacent cabinet's face frame if you absolutely need to, but that won't give the sink enough clearance with the door and drawer of that cabinet. And you've generally got a DW on the other side, so no room to shave anything. If you are interested in a handcrafted sink, it would be best to order the sink first to be 100% sure of the exact size of that particular sink, and then make sure that you have plenty of wiggle room if you need it for one that is slightly larger---just in case you break that one and have to replace it down the road.

I have the Orca, (LOVE IT!!) faucet is not dead center in cabinet. I don't think it can go dead center unless extra deep counter top in the back. I don't think it would look good either. The faucet seems to "Belong" to the right a smidge. I am a very detail minded person and this doesn't bother me a bit. 2.5 inches to the left of cabinet center is the center of the faucet. Aslander, thanks, that picture helps so much! My sink is not in an island and will be in a 24in deep cab so I think that limits me a little bit? I had not considered mounting the handle as you did. Now that I see it, it actually looks cleaner and will definitely think about it. I was planning on placing my soap dispenser all the way to the upper left corner and perhaps getting a soap dispenser with longer reach will help the reach the pots and pans?

I personally think the Grohe K4 looks better with the handle turned to the front.
The plumber switched the hot/cold at my request. I like it facing forward because if my hands are dirty, I can turn on the faucet with my pinkie. Logically, "cold" is usually left, and "hot" is right.

My grandson is the only person to comment on the blue/red lines being incorrect. We plan to use very fine sandpaper and eliminate the lines, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Soap dispenser location: I would suggest taking your bowl or pot, or whatever you might use to wash dishes in, and holding it in the sink under the "location" of the dispenser. (We used 'mock-up' toilet paper rolls to show position of faucet and dispensers)
